And please do not do a spell directed at another unless you have permission from that person to that the action you will be trying to bring about. If they say, "No," respect their wishes. Again, I’m not saying you can’t do it but be ready to assume full responsibility for the consequences.
So onto the categories. These are my definitions, by the way. Just a quick overview as to the type of spell work you can do.
Attraction Spells.
To attract something;
to bring it to you rather than you going out to it.
Binding Spells.
Binding spells are
those which prevent action on the part of another. Binding spells
can also be used to bind two things / beings together. Examples of
binding spells are to prevent someone from sending out negative forces,
to wrap up a person so that they cannot harm others. You can bind
the energies of one source (fire) into another (an athame). As for
binding two people together - please DON’T do it!
Banishing Spells.
As implied, banishing
spells are to remove something. You can banish disease, negativity,
spirits, and bad habits. A form of banishing is used in a separation
ritual.
Blessing Spells.
To bless your home;
to bless a person. These are also known as anointing
and/or consecration spells.
Cleansing Spells.
Negativity loves to
attach itself to anything and everything. Even existing in the mundane
physical world will cause negative stuff to attach itself to you.
Cleansing is more than the removal of dirt and dust bunnies.
Divination Spells.
Divination is a form
of spell work. It doesn’t matter the form of divination. There
are spells designed to assist you to better master your skills in this
area.
Harmony Spells.
What is a harmony spell?
Well, for me, it is a spell or ritual that brings things into harmony,
focus and balance with each other.
Healing Spells.
Healing spells can
be banishing or binding spells. They can be self-improvement spells.
Love Spells.
Um, … I debated about
including this category. But I also recognize that many first begin
exploring the craft to learn about this type of spell. Surprise,
surprise, surprise - I’m not going to tell you how to cause another person
to fall in love with you. Love spells, instead, should be used to
either bring out qualities within you to appeal to someone else (even someone
specific) or to draw a certain type of person to you (but not a specific
individual). In this category are also spells dealing with sexuality
and sensuality. And, strangely enough, hate.
Money Spells.
Yes, of course there
are money spells. However, when using them be very specific about
the desired source of the wealth. And never ask for more than you
need.
Removal Spells.
Similar to a banishing
spell, but not quite as drastic. In this case, you are usually removing
the influence of something or someone most likely because of negative energies.
Self-improvement Spells.
Do you need to learn
better study habits? Do you want to improve your self-image or become
more capable in something? Self-improvement spells are designed to
bring about a permanent change within you.
Spirituality Spells.
Spells designed to
assist your spiritual growth or to aide in the contact with other realms.
Or perhaps you want to enhance existing abilities? Perhaps you want
to work with an element or spirit animal. There are spells designed
to assist you in making the needed contact.
So, your assignment for next week is to decide what type of spell you want to do. That’s it. Think about every aspect of it - from where you will raise the energy for the spell to what you precisely wish to accomplish.
