This week’s lesson is on Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea )
Got your Q-tips at the ready? Are you sniffing? Are you able to figure out if they’re yin or yang, which Chakra they correspond with, and which crystal they go with?
Safety information: Do not use in large amounts as it can cause a "hangover" type headache. Do not use when one has been drinking or using recreational drugs, do not use on women who are pregnant (except in the labor stage), or with any conditions that are estrogen connected (such as breast cancer, endomitriosis etc.) Also a possible skin irritant and those with very delicate and sensitive skin.
Ritual Uses:
Parts used: Essential Oil
Magical uses: Dreams, inspiration, Grounding, Meditation, Bringing Harmony, confidence, Nightmares
Dosage: 2 drops of Clary for every TBLSPN or 15 mls of cream or Carrier Oil, in the tub or in a diffuser.
Some suggestion on ways to use it:
For bringing harmony and healing into the home after arguments, try making up a spray bottle using 2 cups of water and 12 drops of Clary Sage, 4 drops Eucalyptus and 9 drops Sandalwood, and spray the rooms the argument took place in.
To Promote harmony: diffuse 3 drops Clary, 5 drops Lavender and 1 drop Rose, in the main room of your house.
To prevent Nightmares, make up a dream pillow and use a drop of clary to bring good dreams and to keep away nightmares.
Diffuse Clary (2 drops in a diffuser) to aid in Meditation and visulization.
Practical uses for Clary Sage: regulating the menstrual cycle, PMS, painful periods, labor pains, brings on menstruation, post natal depression, depression in general, migraine, nervous tension, stress, fear, impotence, frigidity, genital infections, is an aid in Labor and childbirth, colic, cramp, constipation, possibly lowers high blood pressure, asthma, throat infection, whooping cough, wrinkles, dandruff, hair loss, oil skin and hair, a possible skin cell regenerator, fungal infections.
