Medications and Tests
If your babys reflux persists in spite of all your efforts, you may want to ask your doctor about testing or medications. You should know that none of the reflux medications have been tested on or approved for use in infants. You will want to carefully weigh the possible risks and benefits of medications, and research the specific benefits and side effects of each one. Tests for reflux are invasive, painful, and often inconclusive, which is why most doctors prefer to prescribe drugs first and watch for improvement.

Reglan is a drug that is commonly prescribed for reflux (two of my sons were on it), however, the rare (yet still very real) side effect described in this article is seldom mentioned to parents.
