Relactation/Inducing Lactation

Many times mothers offer their refluxing breastfed babies formula, on the advice of their doctor or family, with the hope and promise that formula will improve their baby's reflux. Sometimes there seems to be an initial improvement, only to later backslide to reflux that is worse than ever. By this time the mother's milk supply has diminished, and she may feel that she cannot possibly go back to breastfeeding. Other times a mother may have formula fed from birth, but later discovers that her baby is intolerent of formula, and realizes that breastmilk might be the only thing her baby can digest.

Either way, it is quite possible to induce lactation or relactate. It is never too late!
