Boys in Blue Save our Iowa Battle Flags


             On March 10, 2001, Civil War Reenactor from several groups around
                       state of Iowa in common cause to raise money for the Preservation of
                      the Iowa Battle Flags.The men and women march from Sailorville Lake
                       starting at 8.00 A.M.  arriving at the State Capital Building at 3.30
                       P.M..

 

 
 







                      Colonel Thomas Calge of 15th Iowa Volunteer Infantry reenactors made
                      a presentation  to Jerme Thomas, Director of State Historical Building

                    pledges which were raised by the men and women of the 15th Iowa
                    Volunteer  Infantry Reenactment Group. Also receiving donations was
                    Lee Booton, Vice Chairman of the Iowa Battle Flag Preservation
                     Committee and a member of State Advisory Board.


                       Commander  Rick Ellis of Grenville M. Dodge Camp#75 Dept. of
                       Iowa, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War presented a Certificate
                       of Appreciation to Thomas Calge, Commander of 15th Iowa Volunteer
                      Infantry Reenactment Group for their efforts in preserving our Iowa
                      Battle Flags in conducting a 10 mile march, to raise money for

                      the Iowa Battle Preservation Fund.
