Now, on to the fun!
Before we begin you will need to know a few things:
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have a 'winmodem' you will need to stop and attach a different modem.
Most software based 'winmodems' use the Rockwell HCF chip, identified in Windows device manager as an "HCF modem enumerator".
If you are using a PCI modem the following steps will probably not work for your particular hardware. If you are going to use the settings as given in the following example you will need to disable
the built-in COM 2 port on the motherboard. You will need to do this from within the BIOS setup screen before booting into the BeOS.
