MISSION STATEMENT
The library media program will provide students access to materials in a variety of formats and ensure students and staff are effective users of information and ideas.
TECHNOLOGY
To provide an integrated information literacy program to assure mastery of research, evaluation, and production skills.
1. I will prepare and maintain a current library WebPage listing current curricular needs for all grade levels and professional interests.
2. I will provide instructions on proper use and maintenance of audio visual and computer equipment as needed.
3. I will collaborate with grade level teams to incorporate technology and information literacy.
4. I will participate in school and district technology committees when possible.
5. I will prepare a media center staff handbook.
6. I will assist students in learning proper research procedures and practices.
7. I will prepare newsletters for staff and parents about media center current events and acquisitions.
8. I will involve staff and students in acquisition choices.
9. I will support and encourage student participation in the library service club.
10. I will continue updating knowledge and skills required to use the cataloging and circulation software.
11. I will search out grants that will provide continued infusion of technology to help meet school, district, and national standards.
12. I will prepare inservice materials to provide information and technology literacy skills for students and staff.
