A New Twist on an Old Tale ( An Internet Webquest on Cinderella)

Intended Audience: 7th grade +

Description:  Through the tale of Cinderella, the searchers in this Quest portray the culture of Ancient Greece.  The team consists of a Societal Expert, a Marriage and Family Counselor, a Gender Investigator and a Stage Setter.  Prior to starting their quests, members will read on-line Cinderella-tales from Vietnam, Russia and France.  They will compile background information for the group before it divides into roles where the members will become experts on one aspect of ancient Greek culture.  The final product will be the creation of a children's book.

This project appeared very well organized and interactive.  The students are even linked to Webster's on-line dictionary to use if they encounter difficulty in the reading level of any of the sites.

  Name:  ANCIENT EGYPT WEBQUEST

Intended Audience:  5th - 8th Grade

Description:  Searchers travel back in time to Egypt in the year 1250 B.C.   Their quest is to locate King Tut's burial mask, decode the message written inside it, and return to the present day.  If successfully decoded, the information contained in the message may solve the earth's environmental crisis.

The students must complete a travel log of their experiences and utilize all the available resources (books, experts, internet resources) to complete the various missions they have been assigned.

This Webquest was very user friendly, and clearly constructed. I believe the "Mission Impossible"-type format will appeal to the students.  It also includes activities and tasks to accommodate a variety of learning styles.  Great graphics too!
