HAVA complaint against HART eSlate certification

June 16, 2006

The Colorado Secretary of State has denied our June 13th Open Records Request.

The Colorado Secretary of State uses dirty tricks to make it as difficult as possible for the public to access public records.

One way that this is done is to release text documents as PDF files that contain photographic images rather than text.  This costs more and is less functional.  It costs more because the PDF files are enormous.  They consume excessive disk space, and typical users cannot download these huge files.  It is less functional because nobody can search the image PDF document using the search commands.  Also, one cannot insert comments into the text when working on the document. This is because the PDF contains images rather than text.

The PDF file containing the Secretary of State's denial of records is nearly 7.0 MB.

If you would like a copy of the PDF file e-mailed to you, please send a note to AlKolwicz@qwest.net with REQUEST SOS PDF in the subject line.
