Christmas Present Ingathering
Each November, Outreach chooses an agency to be the recipient of new gifts
(toys, clothes, gift certificates, etc.) from All Saints. After three Sundays of ingathering,
the unwrapped gifts are blessed and delivered well in advance of Christmas for distribution.
Contact Linda Weller at 425-646-1136 for more information, or if you'd like to help.
Congregations for Kids
For the past six years, as many as 19 congregations, including All Saints, have
collaborated to contribute backpacks, school supplies, and gift certificates to students in the Bellevue
School District who qualify for the Free and Reduced Price Lunch program.
Donations from the congregation are collected and inventoried over a period of three Sundays
in late summer, then delivered to a central sorting site in the third week of August. Last year
a total of 1200 students were helped by the "Good Start Back to School" drive.
Interested All Saints members may help with sorting and packing backpacks. Young people
are particularly encouraged to volunteer and may receive community service hours for doing so. Contact Linda Weller at
425-646-1136 for more information, or if you'd like to help.
Congregations for the Homeless
During the last two weeks in February and August, parishioners provide and serve
meals to Eastside homeless men. The men, 18 and over, staying in host Eastside congregations,
are screened by Catholic Community Services before entering the program.
Hats for the Homeless Committee
Do you enjoy knitting? Do you like to crochet? Would you like to use your skills
to provide Hats for Homeless Teenagers? There are no meetings to attend -- no dues to pay. You
use whatever pattern and yarn you want OR we have patterns and yarn. You may create as many OR
as few hats as your time and interest allows. The only requirement is that the hats should be
warm and fit teenagers. All hats donated to this project are greatly appreciated. Feel free to call
Jane Grabinski or Linda Weller at 425-646-1136 if you are interested in more information.
Mission to Seafarers
All Saints is very involved in this important outreach program to the seafarers of the world
that call at the ports in Puget Sound. This is part of the Anglican Mission
to Seamen Ministry that is carried out world-wide.
All Saints supports this outreach program by making cloth ditty bags each October/November as well as
collecting articles of clothing and toiletries to be placed into the bags. These ditty bags are then
given to the seafarers, both Christian and non-Christian, during their port calls in December, to be
distributed to the crews of merchant vessels on Christmas Day. All Saints also generously supports this ministry
financially through our outreach committee. Charlie Hubbard serves as Vice President to the Board of
Directors to the Mission to Seafarers, and can be contacted for additional information.
