Vorlon R.C.C and Ships: *Note*: POTENTIAL SPOILERS! TURN BACK NOW! Personal note: Because of JMS's clever plot twists, I have had to do some corrections on the shadows. For one they are no longer limited to 275 ships, I now place their numbers total at a maximum of 12,000 ships. Lord knows how the races of the three galaxies would survive, for at this high number of ships the enemy would definitely conquer the three galaxies. As if the shadows wasn't enough, now the three galaxies have the vorlons to contend with as well. Making their task all the more difficult. The vorlons now have the attitude that all traces of the shadows must be eliminated, kind of like an infection you have to cut it out. They have little regard for the non- shadow life they are causing harm. Making them the perfect plot twist for any good adventure. *NOTE*: I personally recommend you leave the vorlons as the good guys for now, at least untill the series is over. Vorlon General info and Rifts story: General info: Vorlon's are an enigma to EVERYONE. This includes Splurgoth, Kreegor, gods, and essentially anyone else. The only exceptions may be the Minbari, the Shadows, and Lorien. In public they are always dressed in encounter suits, leaving many people to wonder what they actually look like underneath. In truth, Vorlons are rather like bright floating jellyfish, and are a chrystal based lifeform, however to any *Lesser* race, they appear to be beings of Light, exactly depicted according to Legends of their own world, the only exception are the Centauri (Who don'thave angels and god-like beings), and the Prometheans (Second stage Prometheans are the only ones who see then for what they are, first stagers cant see them at all, though they do know there is SOMETHING nearby, they can hear them however). This facade is a strain on a vorlon to maintain, so they only do it for a limited time, then return to home world or their ship to rest. See special powers. Not also that vorlons are the same as shadows, a lesser mega-damage being, however, they can splinter thier essences like a true alien intelligence. Their powers give them two exceptions to the alien intelligence rule, see below. Rifts story (just one potential Idea): Long ago, just after the star's were formed and the cosmic forge hid its light in shame, the newly born Splurgoth, a warlike alien intelligence race, stumbled upon a new, as yet unseen class of ships. Seeing it as potential slaves and toys, the splurgoth sent a ship after it to track it to its home world. Once that was found, a small slaver fleet (the first one recorded) was sent to capture the planet, and to enslave its people. As the fleet entered the system, the leading Splurgoth intelligence at the time, Splyccryth was amazed to find he lost all normal and magical means of contacting his fleet. Psionic probes were also useless. A small ship was sent to find out what happened, but as it approached the Vorlon home world, its Rift drive went wrong and veered 100,000 light-years of course. The Kitanni on board expected death, and they were half right. What they found when they stopped was the remains of the splurgoth fleet. Bits of ships and debris littered a planet later known as Eylor.. Splyccrynth sent an attack fleet to hit the home world of the vorlon's. Again it was obliterated, but no retaliation occurred to the splurgoth. Curious, Splyccrynth went himself in a special ship to see what happened. As he approached Vorlos, he received a Magical AND psionic message which was this: Leave this place! We are not for you. Go, leave. NOW! As if to press home the point, several THOUSAND ships appeared. Splyccrynth, deciding that he hide was more valuable than whatever this world may hold, turned tentacle and ran. 10,000 years later, The splurgoth and their kitanni servants massed the BIGGEST fleet in recorded history. Approximable 957,000 ships including fighters, cruisers, frigates, and a HUGE battleship. Only 12,000 of these returned alive, and their story was something like this: NO WAY IN HELL AM I GOING BACK THERE! Splurgoth then decided two things: first, don't mess with Vorlon's, and second, Subtly first, armada second. Vorlon ships: *note*: for their size/class/ability, vorlon ships are FAR stronger than ANYTHING in the Three Galaxies. However, there are only 200 known Vorlon ships in the Three Galaxies of any size, this is not 1/10 of their fleet size! Even so, there MORE than a match for ANYTHING that comes their way. The ships are organic, like the shadows, only stronger. A psionic cannot effect a vorlon Piloting his ship. The Vorlons use only 1 type of weapon, adapted for use on all ship sizes. So far there have only been 4 types of ships seen, fighter, and personal shuttle/scout, a battleship, and a ship I call a Vorlon Battle City. The whole Vorlon Fleet should have 4 Battle Cities, and a few thousand (perhaps 12,000) scout/shuttles. All Vorlons are given this one: Vorlon Personal carrier: Model type: VPC space ship. Kinda scout sized. Carries only 1 vorlon though. Class: Tactical scout/fighter/personal escort ship. Crew: ONE ONLY. M.D.C Main Body (front): 9,000 MDC* Main Body (rear): 5,000 MDC** Engine Flaps: 1,000 MDC a piece (4)*** Forward 'spines': 1,000 a piece (4) *Any part of the ship regenerates 2d6x100 MDC every melee. Depleting the MDC of the min body kills the Pilot, Leaving the ship confused, but still alive. It will then make suicide runs to kill everything it considers potentially harmful to itself until it is destroyed or all enemies leave the area. This ship is Highly intelligent. **Protected by Engine flaps, those flaps must be hit first before damage can be applied to rear part of the ship. The only exception is when the ship is slowing down, and the flaps are open. ***For each flap hit, speed of VPC is reduced by 1/4. Regeneration always tries to heal these first. Speed: Ground: NOT possible! Space: An AMAZING Mach 20! Atmosphere: Mach 2 max, can land on planets of so desired. Range: Unknown: Statisitcs: Height: 12-14 ft Weight: unknown, seems to float, even in an atmosphere. Width: 150 ft Length: 500 ft Cargo: unknown Power system: Unknown Black market cost: Would be worth more than a shadow and intruder ship combined. ESPECIALLY to a Spulrgoth. Hell, they'd give up a planet just to have a PIECE OF ONE! Weapon System: Power Bolt/Beam: Built inside the ship. Cannot be deactivated w/out removing the main body. Primary/secondary Purpose: attack/defense Mega Damage: 5d6X100 a shot! Rate of fire: Special! Can become a sustained hit, allowing pilot no other options that melee except to shoot whatever ship its firing at. bonus is an extra 1d6, making the total 6d6x100 MDC an attack, but pilot loses the ability to dodge ship and is open to attacks (Attackers penalty is nullified [see below] and is given a + 6 to initiative and strike). Normally equaled to # of hand to hand attacks pilot has, +1. Special features: Vorlon stealth system: Any ship trying to target a Vorlon vessel of this size is at -6 to strike. Penalties do not apply to Minbari, Promethean, and shadow vessels. All bonuses attacking a vorlon ship at anytime are negated DESPITE Gunner's level. Even if they are using a sustained attack (see above). Vorlon Battleship: Model type: VBS, A vorlon answer to the spidery shadow vessels of the same size. Class: Strategic Battleship/Carrier. Crew: unknown, presumably less than 100 Troop Capacity: Unknown, presumably can carry about 50 VPC's Number of ships in service: less than 500, best estimate, 15 total if needed, but no more than three are active unless home world is threatened. If homeworld is threatened, as many as 12,000 can be called out within 10 minuets time. MDC Main Body: 870,000 MDC!* Spines: 10,000 a piece (4)** Engine (rear of vessel): 300,000*** *Regenerates 6d6x100 MDC a melee. **If two spines are destroyed, Main weapon becomes useless. Spines regenerate at 4d6x1000 a melee. ***Can only be effected by energy weapons, Bullets and missiles disintegrate near the engine. Speed: Ground: Not possible Space: Mach 8 Atmosphere: Mach 1. Statistics: Height: « mile! Weight: Unknown Width: « mile! ft Length: 1 mile! Cargo: Unknown Power system: Unknown Black Market cost: See VPC Weapon Systems: The Particle Beam of Hell!: Only weapon on the ship and can only fire forward. Origin is in the center of the spines. Primary/Secondary Purpose: Anti-everything/Anti shadow Mega Damage: 6d6x1000 MDC! Effective range: 100 miles, effectiveness/damage is not reduced despite the distance. Rate of Fire: 6 per melee. Vorlon Stealth system: Does not have the Vorlon Stealth system, but uses a kind of sensor bender. Attackers still have a -2 to hit, plus their bonuses. Vorlon BattleCity: *note*: A huge ship several miles long! 4 forward spines each larger than a vorlon battleship! Model type: VSD Class: Super Dreadnaught Crew: unknown, presume about 1000 Troop capacity: 10 VBS and 100 VPC's or 1000 VF's. ALWAYS escorted by 35 to 50 VBS! MDC Main Body: 4,500,000 MDC!* Top/bridge: 500,000 MDC!** Spines (4): 100,000 a piece* *Regenerates 1d6X1000 a melee **If destroyed, ship forms a jump point and returns home, If it can be stopped, ship will not move and will simply sit there until another vorlon ship aid it or until its destroyed. Keeps regenerating regardless. Speed: Space: Mach 14 Planetfall: Not possible. Range: Unknown. Statistics: Im sorry, I cant even guess. Figure about 5-7 miles long. Power system: Unknown Black market cost: Will NEVER be available on the Black market, will self destruct first. Weapon System: The giant Planet Smashing Weapon: Don't ask MDC damage, lets just say anything it hits dies instantly regardless of MDC the ship/planet has. I figure 1 shot will destroy a shadow vessel passing through it onto at least 4 others. Three will destroy a normal planet, and perhaps 4 to roast a splurgoth, or vampire/alien intelligence of high MDC power. The weapon does not obey ANY rules regarding invulnerabilites. That is even one immune to normal particle beams still suffers full damage. If you MUST have a MDC rating, try 10d10X100,000. *Note*: Can only be fired a maximum of three times a melee. That means it can smash a normal sized planet in 15 seconds! Larger sized planets Like Jupiter or Centauri prime will take about 4 or 5 shots. Plantes with magical shielding on it, like Zahadum, will take several shots to destroy. Galefrey shield is immue to this weapon, perhaps its the only planet that is. (Galefrey is the home world of the time Lords and if you have seen Doctor Who, you know what kind of shield Im talking about.) The Pyramid on Phase world may also, and probably is immune. Space Bender. It is not know the origins of the Space bending system, but this ship can apparently bend space around it like a pocket, effectively shielding itself from and sensors or scanners. Only ships that may be able to detect it are Shadow and Vorlon ships. Hybrid ships of vorlon or shadow design mixed with another race CAN detect it, but unless the lock onto it IMMEDIATELY, they will lose the signal in 2 attack actions. Consider it a Cloaking device as long as the ship is traveling. Fighter Modle Type: Vorlon fighter, designated VF. Only been seen in episodes with the Battlecity., looks like a football with the Crayfish like spines jutting out the front in typical green color. Class: Fighter Crew: One pilot. MDC by location Spines (4): 500 each** Main Body: 6,000* * Regenerates 2d6X100 MDC a melee ** Called shot, -1 to hit, Does not regenerate, but can be repaired. If two spines are destroyed, ship will be unable to fire. Speed: On ground: not possible Space: Mach 8. Atmosphere: Mach 2 Star Drive: None, but can stay close to other ships and Travel with them. Range: Unknown Statistics: Height: 20 ft Width: 25 ft Length: 60 ft Weight: 10 tons Cargo: unknown, possibly none. Power System: Unknown, Very efficient Black Market cost: See Sha-1 Weapon: Lighting Particle beam (1): Only weapon. Purpose: Gee, I don't know, guess! Mega-Damage: 3d6X100 per shot Rate of fire: equal to # of hand to hand attacks of the pilot +2 Payload: Unlimited. The Vorlon R.C.C. *Note* Again, a LOT of assumptions, this current description may turn out to be inaccurate by the time the series is over. One thing that is NOT an assumption is that Vorlons are a chrystal based entity, lasers will simply bend through them. A guy trying to laser a vorlon can be compared to someone breathing on us. A little less than an annoyance. Alignment: Any. (*Note*: Despite the Vorlons alignment, they believe their goal, creating order and discipline, is for the greater good of evolution. They will use/manipulate other races with skill, appearing in visions and dreams. Unlike the shadows, they do almost all their own dirty work. Vorlons will only be at places or great importance, like Phase world or Babylon 5, they MAY hold propertry in the three galaxies, but no one is sure of where they get their funding. A vorlon himself may have MILLIONS of credits wherever he goes. They seem to take little interests in the affairs of others, but they will ALWAYS help out those of good intentions. This means they will NEVER help Kreegor conquer worlds, but may help by sending visions to effect political change. They see IMMEDIATELY any evil alien intelligence, but will take NO direct action against it. Indirect is another story.) Attributes: I.Q. 4d6+10, M.E. 4d6, M.A. 4d6, P.S. 20+3d6, P.P 15+3d6, P.E. 4d6, P.E. 3d6, Spd 5d6 Size: 12 feet tall/long Weight: 150-175 Pounds. MDC: 3d6X10 also has natural invulnerabilites. Horror Factor: 12 P.P.E. 5d6+10/lvl I.S.P. 3d6 +5/lvl Average Life Span: Unknown (Gm note: Immortal until killed) Natural Abilities: Can appear to be any legend from the home world of the person viewing him, essentially a being of light. Immune to horror factor and can see into the future of their own lives. Flying is a natural ability of a vorlon and can be done at will. Maximum speed of 300 mph. Ability to 'break off' pieces of their essences, and let it travel throughout the megaverse even if it is in the same dimension. Can store itself in any being, regardless of race. Only exceptions are gods and shadows. The other exception is that this 'piece' can be placed in someones body with out their knowledge, but the vorlon CANNOT control the recipient. This piece can remain behind inside a person even after a vorlon is dead, but it will take the person releasing it or another vorlon to draw it out. While inside a person, the 'piece' acts like a message giver in dreams or visions. All vorlons know exactly when another dies. Vorlons can also pass through solid objects when they are not in their encounter suits. Immune to vacuums and do not need to breathe. Experience Level: Varies. The original Kosh must have been several million years old, but the new one perhaps only a mere million years old. Psionic Powers: Mind Block, Telekinesis, Psi shield, astral travel, forced telepathy, Bio- manipulation are learned at first level. GM may use other powers at his discretion. Considerd a Master Psionic. Magic Powers: Knows 3 Spells of choice from each level of 13 spell levels. Cannot learn spells of Ledgend. Knows 8 air and water warlock spells of choice from any level. Also has on spell of choice from phase powers. Also at levels 3, 5, 7, and 10 can choose another phase power or learn a temporal spell. Combat: 8 Attacks per melee! 4 by psionic, and 2 by magic. Damage: Restrained tentacle-2d6X10 SDC Normal tentacle-1d6X10 MD Power Strike-3d6X10 MD Bonuses: +4 Initiative, +10 to strike and parry, +2 to dodge, +6 save vs magic. Special Powers: Invulnerable to energy not in particle form, thus lasers, Ion beams, even 200,000 volts at 10,000 amps of current cant hurt a vorlon, and even PHASE weapons do nothing to them. Normal propellent weapons ( Boom guns/rail guns) do normal damage. Vulnerabilities/Penalties: (this im guessing by Kosh II's comments in Falling Toward Apotheosis.) Two or more Psionics using Forced telepathy may IMPRISON a vorlon, but only hold it in place, like a shadow. R.C.C.Skills: Effectively a Vagabond O.C.C. but CANT choose skills a vorlon would never use (like Riding land based or Cooking or play musical instrument). Also has Languages: Shadow at 98% Standard Equipment: Encounter suit (see below) Money: Has no need/concept of money anymore Cybernetics: none. Encounter suits: MDC: 200 across whole 'body'. Can also put up a force field with 3,000 MDC ability. Has its own miniature power source, that supplies infinite energy for the suit. But the forcefield may only be activated 3 times before a 12 hour period recharge. Also has a built in language translator fluent in ALL known galactic tongues. Speaks Vorlon 'musical tone' language (in case you cant figure it out, they generate those 'tones' by vibration, rather like striking a Chrystal.) Weapons: Sonic disrupter: No damage but causes unpleasant noise shielded by the encounter suit. Energy Blast: a mere 6d6 MD, but can be fired up to 10 times a round. Infinite shots, and blast can be regulated to as little as 1d6 a shot Power hold: rather like Darth Vaders Grip on people, the become pinned to a wall or try to pry unseen hands off their throat. No saving throw, completely at mercy of vorlon, but effectively removes all other abilities on the suit, other than movement and communication. Cannot put up forcefield or cause sonic Disruption.
