If I have a character who is a Lord Magus, for example, and I want this character to multi-class into another magic o.c.c. or warrior o.c.c. (Cyber-knight,etc.), how do I go about doing that? Is it similar to multi-classing in AD&D, where the original class stops progressing until the new class reaches the same level of experience and then they both progress normally from there or is it totally different from that. I have nearly all the books for Rifts but I can't find anything that gives any kind of ruling on multiple o.c.c.s. If you could help out I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks for your time. Check out the Palladium website. They've got some errata that covers a second O.C.C. class. The exact URL is http://www.palladiumbooks.com/oops/dualocc.htm I've got stuff on my site (I think so - there's a lot there) in the magic section that covers multiple magic O.C.C.s Offhand, if I were a GM I wouldn't let you double class as a Cyber-Knight and a Lord Magus. Far too strong unless the GM is good and/or is running a power campaign. Anyways... For true double- classing I think I would augment the Palladium rules. You'd need to attain experience points equal to third level as a Cyber-Knight, mage, or otherwise powered O.C.C. as an apprentice period (during which your character's magic skills should be limited, in order to focus on the development of new powers). After the apprentice period your character would officially be first level in whatever O.C.C. Instead of progressing solely as the new class, I'd say that you automatically alternate between levels of experience in the two classes. You gain a new O.C.C., attain second level, then switch to attain the next level of your original O.C.C., then switch back to gain the third level of the new O.C.C.s, etc. It's up to your GM, but halfway through the apprentice period I myself would allow the player to select one of the O.C.C. abilities as a sign of progression. For a Cyber- Knight, the player could choose either the Psi- Sword (most likely) or the other minor psi- powers of the class. As for PPE and ISP, the character would not get the additional 1d4x10 or whatever (unless a non- psychic O.C.C. character is gaining a psychic character class, or a similar situation). With each alternating level, the character's PPE and ISP would increase as per the current O.C.C. level and the specific O.C.C. skills would increase. Sometimes you'd gain knowledge as a Lord Magus (get new spells, more PPE, your Lord Magus skills would increase) and other times you'd progress as a Cyber-Knight (get more ISP, gain Psi- Sword strength, improve your soldering skills). Hope this helps you and your GM some. /--|-|-|---------------0-0---------------------------------------|-|-|--\ | -- Brett Hegr -- | | The Unofficial Palladium RPG Page | | behegr@mail.uccs.edu | | http://www.uccs.edu/~behegr/palladium/ | \--|-|-|---------------0-0---------------------------------------|-|-|--/
