AF-96 Full Conversion
Cyborg Power Armor

Created by Oliver Thornton
This power armor is also known as the "Iron Petal," due to the layering of armor upon the already heavily armored cyborg.

AF-96 Full Conversion Cyborg Power Armor

Crew: One Full Conversion Cyborg
M.D.C.tm by Location:
* Head - 100
Arms (2) - 150
Legs (2) - 180
*** Rear Thruster Unit - 150
** Flight Pylons (2; one behind each shoulder) - 100 each
M-121 Rail Gun (1) - 100
Mini-missile pods (4; one on each shoulder and each leg) - 80 each
Main Body - 300

* Destroying the head eliminates the additional sensors of the unit, leaving the borg to use his/her own sensors.
** Destroying one pylon reduces flying speed by 30%. Destroying two pylons makes flight impossible, but thruster assisted leaps are still possible.
*** Destroying the rear thruster makes flight impossible as well as thruster assisted leaps.
**** Due to the special nature of modular technology, as well as the borg's own independent power supply, it is possible for the borg to get the bonuses of any single unit in the armor (ie, sensors in the head unit, strength from arms, flight from the thrusters, the missiles (assuming the legs are still intact), etc. BUT once the main body is destroyed, the borg loses all combat skill bonuses, and are left to their own attacks, bonuses, etc. If the main body is destroyed, the armor is rendered inoperative.

Speed:

Running: 150mph
Leaping: The robot legs augment the cyborg's own power, allowing them to leap up to 50ft up or lengthwise unassisted.
Thruster Assisted Leap: 150ft up or 250ft lengthwise.
Flying: The thruster system of the Iron Petal allows the unit to hover stationary at up to 1000ft or fly. Maximum speed flying is 300mph, but cruising speed is around 180mph. Maximum altitude of 1500ft.

Statistical Data:

Height: Borg's height (usually 6.5-9ft) + 2ft
Width: With pylons down - 5ft, with pylons up - 11.5ft
Length: 6ft
Weight: 600lbs fully loaded, plus the weight of the cyborg, usually 1000+lbs.
Physical Strength: Gives the borg a robotic strength of 40
Cargo: None, unless the cyborg has hidden compartments on their body.
Power System: UNIQUE - In order to power the systems of the Iron Petal, both the borg's own internal nuclear generator and a larger one in the thruster are used. The generator in the thruster is responsible solely for the thrusters, which have to lift the combined weight of the cyborg and armor, while the internal generator powers the sensors, limbs, and weapons of the unit.
Cost: This armor is still in its developmental stages, and is therefore very rare. The corporation behind its construction only supplies it to about 5% of their total cyborg division. The characters best hope of finding this is to defeat one in combat and get it repaired. Then there's the cost of refitting the cyborg who will use it with the afore mentioned implants. Total costs for parts, labor, and implants (will require both a full bionic workshop and at least one mechanic or operator with Telemechanics) will run the characters a cost of 5 million credits, plus whoever does the work will want a copy of the schematics (whether or not the players like it). On the other hand, the characters could sell the damaged unit to Triax, the Coalition, Northern Gun, or any of a number of other technological powers. Of course, the buyers will keep it for 1d4+1 months first for analysis before even thinking about giving the character a working replica of the armor. That, or the characters could sell it for about 20 million credits. :)

Sensor Systems:

The armor has all features standard for environmental power armor.

Weapon Systems

M-121 Heavy Rail Gun: Okay, so it's not really a rail "gun", more like a rail cannon. The M-121 is the most powerful single-shot rail gun in the world. Some people have surrendered to an Iron Petal pilot rather than take a chance against a heavily armored borg armed with the M-121.
Primary Purpose: Assault
Secondary Purpose: Trimming really tough hedges.
Damage: 2d4x10 per shell fired
Range: 3000ft
Bonus: The M-121 has a laser targeting system that adds +1 to strike. Rate of Fire: Equal to the total number of hand to hand attacks of the pilot. Please note: Bursts, sprays, etc, are NOT possible with this gun. If it was, the kick from the M-121 would probably rip of the pilot's arm.
Payload: The M-121 is belt fed from an ammo drum concealed beneath the thruster unit (-8 to strike on a called shot, 50 M.D.C.tm) with a total payload of 100 rounds. An internal ammo drum implant can store up to 50 more rounds, and requires 2 actions to connect to the M-121.
Mini-missile Pods (4): Mounted on the shoulders and the legs of the Iron Petal are 4 mini-missile launchers. Each launcher carries a total of 6 mini-missiles, for a total of 24!
Range: As per missile type; see RiftsR pg. 46 for listings.
Damage: Varies with missile type. Usually plasma/heat (1d6x10) or armor piercing (1d4x10).
Rate of fire: Any combination from 1 to all 24!
Payload: 6 per launcher, 24 total
Vibro Sword: Both arms have vibro-swords that slide out of the forearms. The blades are a simple, yet effective backup weapon. In fact, the weapon has become a favorite with the few borgs that have used the armor. One borg used the huge swords to hack up a group of roaming scavengers that attacked him while he was on patrol. When asked why he didn't use any of the more powerful weapons he just shrugged and said, "not challenging enough".
Primary Purpose: Assault/Self-Defense
Secondary Purpose: Carving turkey
Range: Melee; the swords extend 3 feet at maximum.
Damage: 4d6 M.D.C.tm
Payload: Effectively unlimited.
Hand to Hand Combat: Instead of using any of the impressive weapons of the Iron Petal, the cyborg can opt to use the superior strength to inflict massive damage with fists and feet. All damage is M.D.C.tm
Restrained Punch - 1d6
Punch - 3d6
Power Punch - 1d4x10 (counts as two attacks)
Crush, tear, or pry - 3d6
Kick - 4d6
Leap Kick - 1d6x10 (counts as two attacks)
Body Flip/Throw - 1d6
Body Block/Tackle - 5d6
Bonuses: Hand to hand combat bonuses are gained only from Power Armor Combat: Elite or Basic, whichever the pilot has.
