| Click Start, then run. |
| In the Run Dialog Box, type "msconfig" |
| click on OK. |
| You should see the msconfig dialog box on the screen. |
| Click the tab named "Startup" |
| There will be many lines of code. If you see any lines that refer to
programs you have installed but don't use, take the checkmark out
of the box. Make sure know what the lines of code refer to. I use CorelDraw,
and each time the computer would start, the Media Indexer would appear
in the task bar. I stopped it by removing the check box from the line of
code in this manner. |
| You will have to click on OK then restart your machine for the change
to take effect. |
| Only make ONE CHANGE AT A TIME. Be sure to restart after each change. |
| I cut my boot up time in half with this and a few other methods. |

how to get there. |
