The Loving Kind
Words & Music by
Brendan O'Loughlin
(Dedicated to my wife, Patricia)
The mountains are higher and the rivers run deeper
Our house is wide open to visit each day
As I'm growing older our loves getting closer
I'll always love you the rest of my days
Your the love of my lifetime, you were always the loving kind
We were meant for each other of that I am sure
The rest just comes easy, you never once failed to please me
Come sit by the fireside, I'll always be near
The kids are all grown and gone, now you are the only one
To comfort and guide me through the difficult years
Our lives had good meaning no need for complaining
Always standing beside me, I love you my dear
Your the love of my lifetime, you were always the loving kind
We were meant for each other of that I am sure
The rest just comes easy, you never once failed to please me
Come sit by the fireside, I'll always be near
The mountains are higher and the rivers run deeper
Our house is wide open to visit each day
As I'm growing older our loves getting closer
I'll always love you the rest of my days
I'll always love you the rest of my days

Life Of The Party
Words &
Music by Brendan O'Loughlin
(Happy go lucky
song of fun and games and even drinking, this time on the road giging
from festival to festival.)
Don't tell me that is true,
nothing there for me and you what about the fest in Lisdoonvarna
Shake hands with uncle Jack who is welcoming me back
Tomorrow we're taking a trip to Connemara
The Dublin road is clear stopping now and then for beer
This bus is full of people from Killarney
Maybe I'm looking rough, but this is good old stuff
There a girl sitting here from outside Blarney
You can tell me that it's true that between me and you
We're gonna be the life of the party
The bus pulled up for grub outside Tim Finnegan's pub
We'll dance and reel and jig until the morning
The field's of Athenry have quickly just gone by
We're moving now from Galway into Clare
The Shannon's coming up we've got to stop at Bruff
I'll have to hitch a ride to Limerick City.
Don't tell me that is true, nothing there for me and you
what about the fest in Lisdoonvarna
Shake hands with uncle Jack who is welcoming me back
Tomorrow we're taking a trip to Connemara

Good Health
Words & Music by Brendan
O'Loughlin
(Irish St. Patrick's Day festival, party time,
drinking song. Chorus would make a great beer jingle. Coors, Miller,
Bud, Guinness, any takers)
As we all sang the songs of our favorite towns
Kerry, Cork, and sweet Donegal
In the shade of the moonlight
And under the old apple tree
As we danced in the halls from the Spring through to Fall
Merry making and having a ball
We're looking real good
As well as I think that we should
They're dancing in the streets
And they're singing Irish aires
In all the local pubs and at football rugby clubs
And all this time we will drink
Good health to our friends
Come all ye young men from the sweet Curragh Finn Belfast, Dublin, or
any port of call
Look who just walked in the door
The one and only Christy Moore and friends
Now the night has just gone and the daybreak has come
Lay our heads down to rest for awhile
Don't forget that we're all set
To crank up that good music again
There'll be one more time if you don't cross the line
We've all here to see the Rose of Tralee
Darling girl from Clare
And the race at the Curragh of Kildare
Voices In The Wind
Words & Music by Brendan O'Loughlin
(We
all have memories in quiet moments, and sometimes its as if
the people of our past are with us again.)
Sweet
dreams, as the night sleeps
And the memories of when we were young
Singing songs of the right and wrongs
Of the rich and famous people that are gone
Hear
their voices blowing in the wind
All their love, they will send
Here, there and everywhere to you
Across the seas and oceans wild and free
Stories told, by the men of old
Of how they danced to the beat of their drum
Lullabies under starlit nights
Of a vast and blue horizon in the sun
Come
to me in my memories
Telling tales of their fortunes wealth and fame
Now their gone, but their names live on
They are legends one for all and all for one
Want To Come Back
Words & Music by Brendan
O'Loughlin
I
come from where the people are always good fun
And times can be hard, for the work is still done
There's hills and there's mountains and their winding rocky roads
To see the River Shannon change direction as it flows
There's many a time I've traveled so far far away
And when I come home, I still feel I want to stay
Cause all the things I'm used to will never be the same
But I want to come back again and again.
Whenever you get the time to think about your home
It will be because you're feeling all alone
You've got to be prepared to satisfy your mind
And take yourself back to where you were a child.
That island of my dreams I've been so close to day by day
The harvester and bomber are all out saving the hay
Christmas time and New Year's Eve is that so far away
Where only getting ready for the grand St. Patrick's Day.

Step Together
Words
& Music by Brendan O'Loughlin
(Jolly song about people getting together, Irish festival atmospheric
feeling, or as they say in Ireland "having a ceilidh")
I'm hear in the
U.S.A. cant forget about Bantry Bay
The catch of the day the saving the hay
The chat at McGuire's pub.
Peggy and Bridget Malone are the only one's with a phone
You got to queue up it's a little bit rough
To make a private call home.
All the people hear are singing everywhere
Without any fear they come from far and near
Just to get together to talk about the weather
And all the little things that they have done so well
Tis hear in the town of Kilkee in the summer it's where to be
Not a worry or care in the County of Clare
There's nothing too much to compare
There's Murphy and Donovan too, expressing their point of view
It's rough and it's tough, and there's never enough
Of that good old mountain dew
There's lots of good thing's to be seen from here to the Cliff's of
Dooneen
The Treaty Stone, the Mountains of Morne
I'm not too sure if I'm comin' or goin'
So if it's O.K. to suggest, your welcome to be my guest
There's charity nuns, fathers and suns,
The Murphy's, O'Loughlin's and Dunnes.

La Ta Tee Da

(Happy
song, catchy tune, kind of like Riverdance. Features Bob Henke (Dr
Hook) on accordion, and tremendous fiddle from Ron Rutowski of Glen

For fest and beer and lots of cheer sure your

The music is fun with Pecker Dunne and fiddlers in the streets
Four long weeks tis where to be
With the local shanakee
Nancy Spain and the rest of the croud will you look over
there
sure there stepping it out reels and gigs and one or two swigs
of that good old mountain dew
The weather is good sit up on the hood keep time with your hands and
your feet
Bangin' it out drinking plenty of stout
For tomorrow we'll still all be here
Commitments are done, the blues had its run,
karaoke is near its downfall
The Chieftains arrive to keep us
Alive, we'll be swinging it through to nightfall.

Bonfires
Words & Music
by Brendan O'Loughlin
(Celtic
Blues Rock. Smooth JJ Cale and Eric Clapton style blues riffs and
chorus fronted by a song about traditional Irish stuff. Recorded in
Nashville and produced by Kathy Mattea's fiddle player, Jonathan
Yudkin.)
Once again their gathering to celebrate the bonfires of the night
Come far and near for to hear the sweet sweet sound of the Uilleann
pipes
Poets and writers of great songs, Celtic music all night long
It's what we call the fest in May, I'm over here myself from
the U.S.A.
Again I'll be meeting all the people that one time I used to know
One by one they're growing old, seems to me that my life's put on
hold
It's nice to have their company, it brings back all my memories
I believe my destiny's to be here one more year for to see
The bonfires lighting up the skies
Here in the West, no one can rest
We're having a ball, there's music for all
You son of a gun, drink up and have fun
We'll be here till dawn
On my way to Galway Bay to listen to the ocean's wild and free
There's fishermen from Crossmaglen casting out their nets into the
sea
Sometimes I think it's time to stay, I've been away too long they
say
But I'll be back again some day, to hear the music and once more to
see

Green
With Blue
Words & Music by Brendan
O'Loughlin
I'm
going back
To the place that I call home
To see all my friends
That I left long time ago
I may not be the same
I'm really not to blame
It's hard to know
How everything will go
In all this time we spent together
Our love has become stormy weather
It's time to leave, it might be better
Life goes on.
The mountains are high
And the rivers run deep
The sea's all around us
And the fields are still green
I'm easy and free
This is where I want to be
Let's all join our hands
And sings the songs of this great land
I miss you now and forever
I hope our lives will get better
Cause you've helped and made me
Become what I am.

Big In America
Words
& Music by Brendan O'Loughlin
(Celtic Rock in a rockabilly style. Describes my
first touring days in the USA in a fun way.
I'm playing the honkytonks and
bars
Trying to imitate the Doors and the Cars
Irish rock and rhythm and blues
Trying to make it big in America
Phoenix, Dallas and Montreal
Got to entertain you one and all
Some people think that I'm quite good
I'm glad cause I can't go home again
I've just turned forty five
Good God am I still alive, sure I'm all right
The booze and stuff's catching up
I'm not sure if I've had enough, but I'll survive
I've got to play these reels and gigs
So I can hold down theses few Irish gigs
The Dublin House and the Inisfree
I'm sure you'll all have me back again
Four long years in this here town
Hoping the freeways don't come tumbling down
Driving in the fast lane, trying to get to the gig
Always dreaming of making it big
Shannon to New York, and back again
I think this is as far as I've ever been
Would you like a cocktail, sir Oh'Oh !!!!!!
No thank you ma'am
I'm playing the honkytonks and bars
Trying to imitate the Doors and the Cars
Irish rock and rhythm and blues
Trying to make it big in America
Making it big in America.

Cry
For Unity
Words
& Music by Brendan O'Loughlin
(A
ballad, but with dramatic music, depicting the
problems in Northern Ireland.
The hills and the stones
And the old bog roads
Have haunted my memories
The small town fairs
In the village squares
Has kept us all together
The time is right now
to show us how
To live and love one another
For all that I hear there's is nothing to fear
We must keep our hopes up high
A new day has come no need for the gun
Let us let those old dogs lie
We'll pray for the day
When we'll hear some one say
We're all as one, not divided
The north and the south
No reason to doubt
Must forget those regretful days
The time is right now
to show us how
To live and love one another.

When You're Alone
Words & Music by
Brendan O'Loughlin
Tell me where
you go when you are dreaming
Tell me what you do when you’re alone.
Do you ever think of coming here to see me?
I miss you almost every single night.
I hope you’ve
not forgotten all about me.
It’s been so long since I have heard from you.
Can’t you take a pen and paper and write me?
And tell me what you think that I should do.
Chorus
Don’t you know I can’t forget you.
You’re in my mind both night and day.
I wonder are your dreams about me,
Am I in your thoughts when you’re alone?
Now I’m coming
home real soon I hope I see you
I have a feeling that our lives have changed.
But that’s all right cause I will still love you
Maybe in a different kind of way.

Here Comes The
Night
LISTEN
Words & Music by
Brendan O'Loughlin
(Contemporary style
folk song that many people will read many different things
into. With some great guests including the producer,
Jonathan Yudkin, (Kathy Mattea) playing fiddle. Another
track recorded in Nashville.)
I'm living each day in the midst of a dream
Of the wonderful nights I spent over here
Telling my soul it's where I should be
Please don't leave me now
I don't know why I'm so far away
From the people I can still hear say
Just play good music and live for today
But don't you leave me now
You are the one in my nightly dreams
Can't get you out of my mind it seems
I tell all my friends it's where I should be
Close by you now
Here comes the night time again
Dreaming of the places that we've been
You're gonna be my lover and my friend
Forever and forever
I'm doing the best that I can do
Don't you know this song's for you
Faithful and remaining true
My days are with you now
I'm doing the best that I can do
Don't you know this song's for you
Faithful and remaining true
My days are with you now
I'm doing the best that I can do
Don't you know this song's for you
Faithful and remaining true
My days are with you now
With you now
