Prototyping with PowerPoint
by Robert K. Brown
This is a recent prototype my company put together for a client. Total time building this presentation was maybe 10-12 hours. It's worth noting that we ultimately didn't get the business. Good thing we didn't waste much time trying to actually BUILD this demo. As you can see, it's fairly complex.
So you're not spending a ton of time trying to find the hyperlinks after you start the slide show, here's the basic script:
- Click on the link for "roofing."
- Click on "add images," which appears in the Job Description heading.
- Click on "Browse..." from the Document Upload dialog box.
- Select the last file in the dialog box (View from river deck.jpg), then click "Open," followed by "OK."
- The image will have appear to have been uploaded into our "application."
Click on the thumbnail to see a larger view of the house. Close the image by clicking on the close button in the title bar.
- Let's see what kinds of products are available for a new roofing job: click on the description combo box for shingles.
- Select product # 61009.
- Now it's time to show additional "functionality" on the Scheduled Jobs tab. Click on it. Click back on Open Jobs. Scheduled Jobs. It really "works."
- Click on the first job listed to get another popup window with job details. Close this popup window.
- END OF DEMO.
Zipped Prototype (1.66 MB). Includes this script.
