Judgment Day

The last thing He remembered was the car accident. Running the intersection an high speed. Headlights, the front grille of a semi, a Peterbilt. then briefly pain, then darkness. Now He finds himself here. Waiting in line to be judged by God for the way he conducted his life. Now that the flesh and the spirit have seperated, He knows everyhing. No longer imprisioned in the wrap of the physical body, all things are clear. God, Satan, heaven amd Hell. This was reality and his life was but a dream. A mere wink in the fabric of eternity.

Nobody spoke while waiting in line. It was like there were a billion people in front of and behind him. The man in front of him looked like he was a preacher. He was holding a book, a Bible perhaps. He attempted to make eye contact with some of the people near him, but every head was facing the floor. Shame, perhaps regret, and at the same time total horror. The large angels roamed too and fro as if to keep order. There was the occasional sound of thunder from the distant front of the line. Brilliant flashes of light were also seen from time to time. Angels were busy going in and coming out of rooms with doors marked with letters of the alphabet and last names. They brought books from those rooms to the judgement seat of God.

The man thought to Himself " I lived a pretty good life. I helped people, I gave to charities. I was faithful to my wife. I mean sure I made mistakes, but it's not like I killed anyone or robbed a bank or anything. In the time it took to have that thought, He was at the front of the line, next after the precher who was being escorted forward into a brilliant white light and dissapeared from view. The man thought to himself " The preacher will do ok, after all he WAS a preacher"

After a few minutes, violent thunder was heard and lightning was flashing. The man thought " God must really be mad at the preacher. Im really going to be in trouble when its my turn". Soon the preacher could be seen backing out and away from the light. A large angel met him and dragged him away. He heard the preacher saying something about love. What about the Love he repeated over and over to himself and the angel pulled him along a dark corridor. "Well" the man thought to hime self " maybe some of these people will stick up for me. There are an awful lot of us, maybe God will listen to reason.

The man was next, as he approached the throne of God he realized he was alone, Peace and love bathed over Him. Then he heard God's voice speaking from inside the light:

"My son, I gave you everything you needed for a happy life. I provided for your every need. I never let you suffer any pain. I sent you witness after witness to offer you my free gift. I fixed it so you would question within yourself of my exsistance, then I provided the answers. But you wouldnt listen to me."

There was no thunder. God spoke in a soft comforting voice.

"What more could I have done? How else could I have proven myself? Speak now, if you have anything to say." The man stood in silence, rembering all the times he could have recieved salvation. God continued" I am just, and I am fair. Everyone got at least one chance to know me, you have had many". With that God stood up and held His arms out and said " I love you. I gave my life for you". The man looked up and saw the nail scars in God's hands and feet. He looked into God's eyes and saw tears running down his cheeks. " I love you " God said as He sat back down" but I cannot allow you to continue in my presence. Hell wasnt even created for you, but that was the deal. Eternal peace with me, or eternal damnation with the devil. I gave you the choice and you rejected me, and I must now reject you." Horror kicked in as God said " depart from me ye worker of iniquity"

The man stepped backward away from God's thone. He could still hear Him weeping as he was met by a large angel that escorted him away.

This scene will be repeated over and over again until everyone meets God face to face. The choice is yours, be judged now on this earth as God's servant who has accepted the free gift of eternal life, or stand in line and meet Him on that awful day in the near future.
