Black

by Alison Terhune

Black

is not

a color.

Black is nothing.

Hope,

light,

end

Black is a symbol of evil,

sometimes,

but of power, nonetheless.

Why is Black forgotten? Is it unnoticed, like the powers of darkness?

Of Black is Hope,

Of Black is Kindness.

But people

say silence

is Golden.

But silence is not Golden.

Silence

is Black.

Black is not a loud color.

If your soul is black, you are

quiet,

Dignified,

and mindful of the dreams that creep about.

You are not of the Rainbow, but you are

There.

Some people

Wish only

for Light.

Black

is the

Universe.

The stronger the Light, the deeper the Darkness.

Wherever there is Light, there will always be

Black.
