Children of Albert TERHUNE (b. 1767 New York d.1857 Nova Scotia) (7) and Catherine GRANT(b.c 1761). Marr 1781 Hants NS History

i. Stephen TERHUNE (b. c1789 d. 1815/1817) Family

Married (his second cousin? SJT) Sophia Margaret McNEILL (b. 1793/92 Windsor N.S. d. Dec 19, 1875 Walton N.S.) She was the daughter of Capt. Daniel McNEILL and Mary WALTON (Nutting) McNeill. Margaret buried at Whale Creek Cem. East Walton NS. After Stephen's death, Sophia married (2) William PARKER son of John and Sara Grant PARKER. (2)

Daniel McNEILL(b. 1752 Lower Little River, Cumberland Co. NC, d. May 5 1818 bur. Parker Family Cemetery Whale Creek, Walton, NS). Son of Archibald & Janet "Jennie Bahn" (Smith) McNEILL (d. 1791). Archibald McNEILLwas the son of Neil McNEILL. Daniel was one of 6 sons, three were Patriots and three were Loyalists. Married Nov. 27 1788, Mary Walton NUTTING (b. Mar 1,1768, d. 1800). Dau. of Capt. John Nutting, loyalist refugee from Cambridge Mass, & Mary WALTTON of Reading, Mass.(2).

ii. Catherine Terhune (b. ca 1790 d. 9 Feb.1830 in Walton) Family

Married Joseph PARKER (b.1779 d. 1862) in 1810 son of William and Mary (Hardaker) PARKER of Petite (Walton), Hants County, N.S. Joseph marr.1805 (1) Anne McLELLAN dau. of Thomas and Janet McLELLAN-family of 1 son and 1 dau. Marr. 1810 (2) Catherine (Grant) TERHUNE had 3 sons and 4 daus.(2). One son was the grandfather of Helyn ANDERSON of Truro, NS who has done considerable genealogical research.

iii. Michael Terhune (1796-28 Jan1855) (2)

Married (1) Elizabeth VANCE (b. 1803 d. 7 July 1834 both bur. Terhune Family Cem. Moose Brook NS). Dau. of Patrick Vance (b.1772 d. Sept. 28, 1841) and Anne Fulton (b.1774 d.. Apr. 30, 1847). Both Patrick & Anne bur. Vance Family Cem. Great Village, Colchester Co., NS.(19)

-David TERHUNE. From LDS: David V. (V for Vance? sjt) Terhune ( age 46 <1834> b. NS) Master Mariner son-in law living with David Hammond (b. 1821) Wife Harriet N. Hammond age 57 and dau Harriet A Terhune age 31.Census place Chatham, Barnstable, MA. I do not have any confirmation that David V. is Michael's son.

-Matilda Terhune. (b. ca 1830-35) marr Benjamin BROWN (b Feb 16,1831..d.1918).Benjamin and his 3 siblings; Catherine, John, and Sarah lived on four properties in Tenneycape which were beside each other. Perhaps their father had divided his own holding in that manner. Living at Cobalt, Ontario in 1914, when sister-in-law Rosanna Brown HARVIE died, 20 May 1914 Hants Cty Journal. Benjamin & Matilda BROWN Children: George W., Susan, Elizabeth, Charles B., Arthur B., Harry S., Edward F., Jessie Morris (b.June 19 1873) marr. Fenwick Terhune., David J., Emma F (marr. David A. Terhune). Lillie May (b. abt 1882 Tennecape). I have made this link based upon Margaret Church's letter

Married (2) Rebecca Morrison Reid of Colchester Co. N.S. Family

James M. REID and his wife settled at Moose Brook, Hants Co. N.S. in 1830 after he had been laid off in the iron mines at Londonderry, N.S. He died in 1835 leaving a widow and two sons named Thomas Morrison REID (b. 6 Oct 1831) and John William REID (b. 18 May 1833). Mrs James M. REID married (2) in 1837 Michael Trehune (Terhune?SJT) and they lived on the farm until 1854 when Thomas REID returned from New York City with his bride Margaret KNOW of Ireland. She (Margaret?) d. 1875. They had 3 sons and 2 dau. Thomas REID marr. (2) Margaret DALRYMPLE and they had 3 sons and 2 dau. The post office at Moose Brook was operated from Thomas REID's Home from May 1863-1913 and then by his daughter in-law Alice Reid (wife of Wilbert) until 1962. In 1892, Robert REID, son of the first marriage who was living in California purchased the farm. It was later sold to Robert's half brother Wilbert in 1912. who died in 1925.(2) The 1871 census has Rebbeca Terhune age 72 living in Noel.with her son ,John Reid, REED FAMILY

Jamie McLellan has informed me that Rebecca, daughter of Thomas Morrison (b. 3 Nov. 1769 in Windsor, NS d. 19 Oct 1859 in Debert NS) and Mary O'BRIAN (b. 1770 Londonderry, Ireland, d. 30 Sept 1864), marr. 1st Robert McEllhiney REID (formerly REED) (b. 25 July 1804 d. 2 Aug 1835) Rebecca & Robert bur. Cameron Family Cem. Minasvilkle, NS

iv. John TERHUNE (b.c. 1800) Family

Marr. Lydia MOSHER (was 73 in 1881)of the Kempt Moshers, father Allen MOSHER (1758-1834) son of James Mosher (b. 12 Jul 1725 Tiverton RI) and Lydia ALLEN (b. Jun 1729 Dartmouth MS-) mother Ester Wilcox MOSHER dau of Benjamin of Kempt (3) and Esther SHEFFIELD. Lydia marr. 2. _________ MARSHALL. Allen Mosher's name was on a petition of Feb 18 1817 requesting representation of his township in the House.(2) This eventually lead to the establishment of the township of Kempt. In 1838 J. Terhune Carpenter had a wife 2 girls and a boy under 6 and one boy over 14..

v. Letitia TERHUNE (b. 1802 d. Mar 9, 1832 ae 50? Buried The Point Cem.) Marr. Nicholas DENSMORE of Noel, N.S. son of John & Lydia (Mosher) DENSMORE.(2). Children, surname DENSMORE, Michael, John A., Louisa.

vi. Daughter? Mary Ann TERHUNE (b. ca 1795) mar 1816 Hants, Nova Scotia ,John Grant PARKER Mary Ann was possibly one of the first Canadian children but her parents are unconfirmed Had a daughter Sarah E. PARKER. John Grant PARKER was probably s/o Sarah GRANT and John PARKER. LDS has William Parker Jr. and Letitia Grant as John's parents.
