Grandmaster Arthur Berry began the study of martial arts in 1972 studying Isshinryu. He then went on to find a teacher in Tai Mantis Kung Fu named Lanard Martin. This are is a Chinese art long practice in China and Vietnam. After an extended period of study he turned to Kaju Kempo under Master Andrew Torok. In 1978 he was introduced to Grandmaster Chin Ho Yin who practiced the Northern Shaolin Arts. Sifu Berry studied with Grandmaster Yin for approximately five years. Since this time Sifu Berry has instructed over 300 students in his art of Northern Shaolin, Green Dragon, Tai Praying Mantis. Sifu Berry emphasizes the true meaning of Kung-Fu through history, mind and body training, and application or chinna. Sifu has entered all black belt divisions and has been an official judge since 1980. He and his students have participated in open martial arts competition throughout the Midwest, winning hundreds of places in the divisions of sparring, forms and weapons.
