I have practiced the martial arts since February 1979. Kajukenbo, Pai-Lum(White Dragon), Green Dragon, Tai Praying Mantis, Wing Chun and AMERICAN KENPO BU-JUTSU.
I received my foundation from Kajukenbo (ka-ju Kempo) under Master Andrew Torok of Karate Institute of DeKalb Illinois and attained the level of Black Belt on April 25, 1982.
I joined the DeKalb School of Kung fu, instructed by Sifu Arthur Berry, in the fall of 1983 and am currently holding the rank of Black Sash, instructor's Rank. Sifu Berry teaches Northern Shaolin, Green Dragon, Tai Praying Mantis.
After moving to central Pennsylvania in the Fall of 1988, I studied Pai-Lum (White Dragon) under Pai Pono Li Michael Rothermel. In the spring of 1990, I began teaching Kajukenbo in Oklahoma City. The school is still actively instructed by Sensei Bill Martin who is teaching AMERICAN KENPO BU-JUTSU.
After moving to Wisconsin in 1993 I began instruction in the art of Wing Chun, under Sifu Steve
Roth, in the system of Grandmaster William Chunge. The instruction ended in 1996 after the closing of
the school in Racine Wisconsin.
