(Rape? I'll kick him in the groin)
This is the response of many of the women that are asked what they would do if someone tried to rape them. I usually am still awestruck with this response. First of all, don't you think that most rapists know that you are going to try this technique? Another big problem with this idea is that it will take three to eight seconds before this point will be activated. Considering that a trained combat martial artist ends a fight in two to five seconds, you could get seriously injured or killed before that kick to the groin slows or stops your assailant. There are many other areas that will end the confrontation much more readily and with a higher rate of success. Consider the eyes.
Can you teach me to defend against a rape? American Kenpo Bu-Jutsu believes that the only way to train defense of a situation is to simulate the situation and apply techniques for defense. You cannot do this in a women only class. Women typically do not rape, and even rarer is the rape of a woman by another woman. In a class that teaches these techniques, your partner will grab you in a common rape situation, and you will be instructed how to defend yourself from that position. One common rape is for the male to come up from behind, place one hand on your mouth and the other on your pants button/zipper and pull you to the ground. He will be attempting to remove your pants. Remember that every failed defense runs the risk of provoking the rapist to injure or kill you. You must be ready, willing and able to deliver deadly force to your assailant.
