Words of Thought

(Controled Attack) AKBKA logo

If a martial artist is attempting a "controled" attack on a assailant, then he is already overconfident that he can prevail in the confrontation. He is betting his life on it. When I am confronted on the street, I must assume that my opponent is better, faster, stronger and has a weapon. I cannot afford to make the mistake to guess anything less. It is a pity, but the people who aren't trained do not have a sign that appears on their head. There is really no way to tell if you will prevail in the confrontation until after the result has already been determined. Therefore, I must use the most lethal techniques in my arsenal to defend myself and my family.

A "controled defense" cannot take place. If you can control the situation you probably did not need to fight, and if you cannot control it you are dead (no defense). How much control should have been used will always be known too late. Why train for a "controled attack"? Train for the real thing; it just may save your life.
