If the Salt Lake Marathon is the same day, traffic will be terrible through Salt Lake City.  So, get on I-15 and get off at  600 North. From 600 North go south to  North Temple .  Go east on North Temple all the way to I Street (North Temple becomes Second Avenue at State Street), turn left (north) on I street, and follow the road all the way through the twists and turns to the LDS church. The trailhead is on the far side of the house directly east of the church.

Starts at 7 a.m. at Morris Meadow entrance to the Bonneville Shoreline Trail (just east of the 18th Avenue ward building in the Avenues of SLC).  Starting on South Temple, drive north up 600 East until it forces you left or right. Go left and proceed west as the road curves back north, then east and to the trail head. No entry fee(bring aid station or finish line food to share with the other runners instead), no awards, just good clean fun.

Help at the Huntsman institute aid station (around miles 16.5 and 21 of the course) would be greatly appreciated, particularly help with encouraging the runners vying for DFL, and with taking down the station after whoever is DFL finally gives up and agrees to move on toward the finish.   If you want to run the first loop (10.6 miles, 3100' vertical; most runners do it in 2 to 3 hours) and then drive over to the aid station (located on the hillside behind the UU hospital complex -> directly west of the Huntsman Cancer Institute), that would be perfect.  If interested, please e-mail jbartley. *** John Bartley and Dan Barnett, co-R.D.’s ***
