I had a lot to be thankful for today.  The biggest thank you is to Mother Nature, who did not hammer the course with even one drop of precipitation while we were on the course.  (The sound of hysterical laughing at the weather reporters on TV and Radio can be heard at this point, snicker.)  This is the biggest group ever to participate.  Thank you for sharing the morning with me.  Fantastic!  Number one Christian  Johnson and Number two Peter Lindgren ran together until the last loop when Christian popped out ahead running possibly the fastest loop.  John Maack and Troy Olson, the Gnarly Brothers, ran together the whole way finishing in one minute of their times from last year. Good work! Derek "?" Blaylock did not record any times but I list him with Ken Jensen since I saw those together a lot.  Derek and Ken ran as hard as they could that last loop and I overheard someone say Derek ran 18 minutes and something.  Whatever.  Man, you guys are fast.  Carter "Bonus Miles" Williams ran EXTRA miles doing 24 K  (#6 loop  was a 27:57 giving him a 2:29:02 for 24 K). John "Consistency" Bartley made his annual trip to this run another steady-as-she-goes doing each lap within 25 seconds of each other.  Sue Lee made here first visit very effective in winning the women's run.  Her actual time* for the first lap is unknown but she ran the first twoin 50:44.  Annie Blackham was second  less than 3 minutes later.  Nice work! Rich "Dog Bite" Baxter got bitten by a dog running out from a large group of people with dogs.  The dog owners were clueless. (Side note to Rich: this is how people get nicknames, so I apologize, but I got stuck with "Gorilla", so I like to try nicknames out on people just in case they like it.  I want to thank Dale and Shauna Heisler for  helping remove ribbons (they added half a loop (bonus miles) to their distance and took down about a mile worth of ribbons).  Generally everyone had a blast.  It was good weather but the temperature did drop from the 50's into the 30's by the time everyone was done.  Thanks for that blanket Shauna, I had a right terrible case of the shivers waiting for the other runners.  As usual, I had started early and so did many others.   The folks coming at 9am must have felt like loners because the early finishers also left making for a steady but small crowd at the finish.  Everyone earned their pumpkin pie today.  Good job everyone.  If anyone wants me to correct something (spelling, times, etc) give me a call at Five Six One dash 2308.
The weather blessed the 20 K,
And the trail cheered us on our way.
Along the Red Butte hills we did our dance,

And smiled as we all did the dirt, rock prance.
