The Utah Wasatch Alpine Strider Series for 2002 consists of points
obtained from best results of
3 events: a marathon (mostly trail marathon unless unavailable);
a 50 mile trail run, and a 100 mile trail run. Points are derived
by dividing the winners time by your time and multiplying that by 100.
For example: Wasatch 100 winning time was 19.874 (Nate McDowells
19 hrs 54 minutes) divided by 20.905 (Karl Meltzers 20:54) gives
19.874 / 20.905 x 100 = 95.1
Female runners use the winning female time to calculate their points.
Marathons used: Bonneville Shoreline Trail, Brighton, Desolation, Pikes Peak, Deseret News
50 Milers used: Squaw Peak , San Juan Solstice
100 K used: Katcina Mosa 100 K
100 Miles used: Wasatch 100, Bear 100
If you have any reason to believe I have miscalculated your stunning
times and points, let me know and I will
correct it. What is your reward for making this list?
Praise and adoration of your peers, of course. Kudos!
This is not a Grand Prix Series with money involved. If there
was any money involved, I would have already spent it on running shoes
for myself.
