Bulletin Announcements - January 4, 2009

Assistive Hearing Devices Are Available at Every Worship Service The sound system includes five assistive hearing devices, which are available for your use.  These are wireless receivers with a single earpiece.  They are easy to use and very unobtrusive – your fellow congregants are unlikely to notice that you're using one.  If you're interested in giving one of our assistive hearing devices a try, just ask an usher for one when you enter the sanctuary.  Hearing aids should be removed before using the church's assistive device. Please remember to return the earpiece and the receiver to an usher at the end of worship, so that we can clean it and have it ready the next time you or someone else wants to use it.  Thanks!

We encourage you to read next Sunday's Lessons ahead of time, they are: Genesis 1:1-5, Psalm 29, Acts 19:1-7, Mark 1:4-11.

PACE class today in the parish hall: Planning a Funeral – Pastor Kegel will lead the PACE hour on service planning. We will look at the funeral service in the ELW, Central's funeral booklet and a funeral preference sheet.

2009 offering envelopes are available in the narthex.

CLC Book Club will meet Monday, Jan. 12 at 7 PM in the CLCW room to discuss The Case of the Missing Books by Ian Sansom. Join us! New members always welcome.

Campus Fellowship at Central: All college-aged people are invited to the inaugural campus fellowship gathering on Sunday night, January 11 th . We'll meet in Central Lutheran's sanctuary for worship at 5 pm followed by a meal in the parish hall at 5:45. Ten gatherings are scheduled through the end of the spring term. For more information speak to one of the pastors or Ben DeCarlo at the Christus House.

www.welcometocentral.org Internet websites are fulfilling an increasingly vital role in the success of organizations today. Churches are not exempt. If you have skills in organization, writing, or website design and maintenance that could be put to use improving our church's website we would love your help. By participating on a team to revamp Central's website you would be facilitating interactions and events that bring the gospel into people's lives. If you're interested in being part of Central's web team please speak to Pr. John or email him at johnclinn@comcast.net
