Fellowship Opportunities
Time and Talents SurveyMembers of Central Lutheran Church are encouraged to complete the Time and Talents form to let us know how you would like to serve in the congregation. This information will be shared with the chairperson of each committee. When the committee or group needs assistance, you will be contacted. Click here for the online Time and Talents Form. If you would prefer to manually fill out the form and mail it to Central, click here to print the Time and Talents Form.
P.A.C.EPACE is Central's equivalent of adult Sunday School, and meets each Sunday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. This Program of Adult Christian Education provides forums and discussion topics relating to some aspect of the Christian faith. Adult learning opportunities have included series on community issues and our faith response, pastor-led theological topics, video and discussion series on a wide range of topics, and speakers from the community. An adult Bible study is another option for Sunday mornings, and other groups meeting then have included a grief support group and a group for parents of adolescents. Another opportunity for adult education is the Chi Rho series which brings to Eugene a well-known Christian scholar for several days of lecture and discussion in late October. "Welcome to Central" ClassThe "Welcome to Central" class is offered three times per year. This introduction and review of the Lutheran and Christian faith is designed to welcome those who desire to become members of Central. Emphasis is placed on the special qualities of Central, and the class serves as a good orientation to what Central has to offer. Small GroupsCentral puts a strong emphasis on small groups. A Parents of Young Children Group has been meeting two Sunday's each month. Dinner groups meet monthly for fellowship. A men's Bible study group meets each Thursday morning, and several women's groups meet monthly for Bible study. Each Wednesday evening, high school youth gather to study scripture. Other small groups, such as grief support, meet periodically. See the church calendar for more information. Contact person: Church office, 345-0395. Dinner groups: Caryl Gibson. Central's Men's MinistryMen's ministry at Central is available in either a small study group format or in weekly fellowship gatherings. Men's Brotherhood, which meets one Tuesday night per month at 6:30, offers fellowship and educational opportunities for men, plus the opportunity to help put on the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper that raises money for scholarships for youth to attend Camp Lutherwood. For a more study-oriented environment, a men's small group Bible study takes place on Thursday mornings at 7 A.M., one in the church library, and one at Original Pancake House on Franklin Street in Eugene. Once a month, a Men's Night Out is planned for fun and fellowship. Contact the church office for more information.
