The Future of This Newsletter

This newsletter has been a labor of love for our loyal readers, our consulting clients, our book and software customers, and anyone who happens to hear about the newsletter and needs outside stimulus or new ideas for their business.

Until now there has been no charge for the newsletter.  It will remain free through the month of May 2000.  Due to the time required to write and publish these articles on the web, sometime after May 31, 2000 a small quarterly or annual fee will be charged to cover the cost of publishing.  Those who find real value in this newsletter will subscribe; those who have only a cursory interest or curiosity in what’s new at CPI will perhaps not subscribe.  Currently, there are hundreds of loyal readers who return every week.  It is our hope that all of you continue with us.

Free is a very good price; nevertheless, there are costs that must be covered to keep the newsletter going.  To continue publishing the newsletter after May 31, 2000 enough readers must be willing to make a small investment in its future.

We will also be making the newsletter available on an affiliate site.

Purpose of the Newsletter

As you no doubt have observed, the content of this newsletter is different from other newsletters.  It focuses primarily on business management, rather than the technical or operational side of the business.  Although it includes operations to some extent, the main thrust of the newsletter is toward strategies for organizing and developing a more productive and profitable business.

Topics That Will Be Discussed

Most established business owners have questions regarding streamlining their existing management systems, whereas new owners have questions on every conceivable topic.  There are a number of sites with newsletters providing advice for cleaning techniques and operations.  The CPI newsletter will include some information on those topics from time to time, but will aim primarily at business management issues.

If you have read all of our newsletters, you will recall the February 22, 2000 issue listing 100 business management disciplines required to successfully operate an organization in today’s competitive world of commerce.  Over time, we will discuss each of these disciplines.
