Municipal Law - The firm serves as general and special counsel to numerous special districts, municipalities and other governmental entities, including towns, school districts, fire protection districts, water and sanitation districts, metropolitan districts, and others.  Our legal work includes the formation and ongoing representation of these entities in the areas of municipal and special district law, finance, water law, environmental law, litigation, and other areas.

 

Litigation - The firm's litigation practice is very broad, responding not only to our municipal, commercial and real estate clients, but also clients who seek our services in real estate, construction, employment, and other litigation.

 

Water Law, Land Use, and Real Estate - The firm's real estate, water, land use and environmental clients range from real estate developers, individual buyers and sellers, and homeowners associations, to municipalities, special districts and other governmental and private clients. The firm represents developers of residential and commercial real estate projects such as subdivisions, condominiums and other planned communities. Developer representation includes the acquisition of real estate through planning and zoning, and eventual construction and sale.

 

Business Law and Nonprofit Organizations - The firm's business practice responds to clients on issues such as the formation and operation of corporations, limited liability companies, and other business entities. The firm's general practice also involves reviewing and drafting all types of agreements and contracts, including leases, shareholder agreements, employment agreements, stock purchase agreements, and other contracts.  In addition, the firm assists nonprofit organizations such as charities and trade associations in forming nonprofit corporations and seeking federal and state tax-exempt status.

 

Estate Planning - The firm also provides estate planning advice, beginning with the ownership and management of property during the client's lifetime.
