This is how I ran power to my Autometer Pro Comp Ultralite gauges

1> Run the 12v Switched (Red) and Ground (Black) wires, from wherever your gauges are, to the passenger side foot area:

The White Wire (12v Illumination wire) is going to go to the headlight switch on the drivers side, but we will get to that later.
Note: You'll be able to dim your gauge lights, when wired to the head light switch (pin 2).

2> Connect the BLACK Wire to a ground:

I used the one found behind the glove box. It is easy to get to and only takes a second to hook up.

Ground behind glove box:
     -Open glove Box
-Press in sides of glove box to lower out of the way(as seen in picture)

Once the glove box is lowered, just back out the ground bolt (pictured above) a few turns, wrap the ground wire around it and tighten back down.

Now that you have the ground in place, you can put your glove box back in place by pushing the sides back in and raising it into place.

3> Connect the RED 12v Switched wire to the fuse box, in the passenger side foot well:

I purchased a mini add-a-circuit at a local Norvac Electronics store, but you can also order these online.

This is what they look like:

Connect your RED 12v Switched wire, to the mini add-a-circuit:

Install a fuse in the mini add-a-circuit (I used a 5A fuse).

Now plug the mini add-a-circuit into unused fuse position  #13:

Here it is plugged in:

Now put the fuse box cover back on and that part is done.

4> Connecting the WHITE 12v illumination wire to the headlight switch:

Open up the headlight switch. I used a non metallic tool to carefully pry on the outer edges, it comes
out pretty easily.

Install the White Wire(12v illum. Wire) to the yellow/blue stripped wire on the headlight switch (pin 2) using a quick connector.

Push the headlight switch back in place and your done.

Now test your gauges.

Notes: I measured the current draw of the autometer light
bulbs (using a power supply)....Basically each bulb draws
about 200ma @ 12v.  I installed a 1 amp fuse in the
illumination circuit, to help isolate my (3) gauges from the
cars wiring.
