Advanced Demonstration Kits

Small square magnet suspended in the center of the superconducting toroid

The Advanced Demonstration Kits delve more deeply into the theory and application of high temperature superconductors. These kits are recommended for more advanced experimenters.

K17 - Grand Compendium Kit $468.00

The most complete superconductor kit available. The Grand Compendium Kit contains every superconductor device from all the other kits. Included are two Four-Point Probes (one of each material), two one-inch diameter superconductor disks (one of each material), an Enhanced Flux-Pinning disk for suspension demonstrations, a flux-melted toroid superconductor and magnetic needle detector for persistent current experiments, four rare-earth magnets, non-magnetic tweezers, and the comprehensive experiment guide.

K18 - Superconducting Energy Storage Kit $228.00

Demonstrate one of the applications of superconductivity with the toroidal superconductor ring included in this kit. Using the included high-power magnet, you can induce a current into the toroidal ring. Then with the included magnetic needle detector, or a Gaussmeter (not included) you can verify the continual flow of that current indefinitely. Also includes non-magnetic tweezers, a one-inch diameter YBa2Cu3O7 superconductor disk and rare-earth magnet for Meissner Effect demonstrations.

K20 - Magnetic Susceptibility Kit    (YBCO) $210.00

This kit allows the experimenter to accurately determine the Critical Temperature of a superconductor by measuring and plotting its magnetic susceptibility against temperature. Includes the new and innovative Susceptibility Probe developed by researchers at Whittier College, a 100 ohm resistor, plus a one-inch YBa2Cu3O7 superconductor, rare-earth magnet and non-magnetic tweezers for Meissner Effect demonstrations.

K20-B - Magnetic Susceptibility Kit    (BSCCO) $260.00

This revolutionary new kit allows the experimenter to accurately determine the different Critical Temperatures associated with the bismuth based superconductor by measuring and plotting its magnetic susceptibility against temperature.  Based on the K20 kit, the bismuth superconductor is a composite of two separate superconducting crystalline phases.  The Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10 superconducting crystals that have a critical temperature of 110K, and the Bi2Sr2Ca1Cu2O10 superconducting crystals that have a critical temperature of 85K.  This kit includes a Bismuth Susceptibility Probe, a 100 ohm resistor, plus a one-inch Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3O10 superconductor, rare-earth magnet and non-magnetic tweezers for Meissner Effect demonstrations.
