Flawless - MGM
99-11-24

Ex-cop (De Niro) and Drag Queen (Hoffman) star together in this hilarious comedy. The portayal of character and reality never compete. The title of this comedy was well suited. Kudos to Joel Schumacher on a great script.

End Of Days - Universal
99-11-24

Arnold in another "hero" movie. Everything was good in the movie from acting to visuals except for the story. That was left to be desired. I can't tell you if this will be something of a box office hit, but it was well worth seeing in the theatre. Gabriel Byrne as Satan and Schwarzeneggar as Jerrod the ex-cop wreak havoc in downtown New York as the millenium is coming.

The World Is Not Enough - MGM
99-11-19

Your classic Bond movie. All the girls. All the BOOM! All the toys. Not enough sex. Oh well, it was a good movie. People waiting in line to see this were all excited to see what was in the next flick. You've got skiing, flying, driving and water sequences all in one movie, again. Can they think of anything else? The baddie wasn't very witty or strong this time.

The Messenger - Columbia
99-11-12

The movie was good. The battles and costumes were great. Although, the script could have been better. Who in the 14th century used the word "fuck"? I don't think so. Milla did fabulously as usual. Directed by Luc Besson, the movie had the same colourful scenery and the same emotional feel. He can make a long movie look great.

The Bone Collector - Universal
99-11-05

Rookie cop (Angelina Jolie: aka Hackers' sexy chick) teams up with Forensic cop (Denzel Washington). This murder, mystery, thriller has so many suspects it's mind boggling. Bone keeps you in your seats wondering "who dunnit", but then you are mistaken again!

The Story Of Us - Universal
99-10-15

Another family drama. I bet the bible thumpers love these movies that are coming out. Thank GOD that I didn't see any bible thumpin' lines in this movie. A marriage that is on the rocks and rollercoastering. This All-American movie hits home to the heart. Let's just say, "squish-squish sweetie."

Three Kings - Warner Brothers
99-10-01

Yeah baby! George Clooney, Ice Cube and Mark Wahlberg: One of Mark's most excellent performances. I was quite suprised. Taking risks to steal Saddam's gold from bunkers in the middle east really isn't my idea of a good time, but considering what the government says is minimum wage, I think it's well worth the risk.

American Beauty - Dreamworks
99-09-17

Wow, how true to suburban drama can you get. I know of something similar that happened this way in a suburb of Seattle, but it wasn't this tragic. All the actors were excellent in their performances. I have no complaints on this surreal movie.

Stigmata - MGM
99-09-10

Patricia Arquette, she gets better with age. I can't help but love her in True Romance. I just love those trailer-trash people. They're so stupid. So, in this role she is a hair dresser. Receiving a rosarie from her mother, she becomes possessed and is now "Jesus". Now that I think about it, it's kinda funny. I'm not trashing the movie. It was good, but I'm not religous, phew.

The Sixth Sense - Hollywood Pictures
99-08-06

Am I the only one that didn't think this movie was all that? What was the big deal? Would someone tell me? These "questions" are rhetorical. Here's the jist of the movie: Guy is shot. Guy has troubles. Guy helps boy to use his gift. Guy succeeds. Movie is over. VERY anti-climactic.
B.

Mystery Men - Universal
99-08-06

I don't know what moans and groans I can make about this movie. It was BORING. If it wasn't for Janeane I would have left the theatre already. Although, the script-writers should be shot for giving her such horrible lines.

Deep Blue Sea - Warner Brothers
99-07-28

I don't know why people thought this movie was bad. This movie got a bad rap. I thought it was visually stupendous and the killing was done quite well. Violent sharks eating people. Well, I guess that's what you get when you mess with mother nature. The ending was perfect and there were many surprises.

American Pie - Universal
99-07-23

Teen angst. Hmmm, you think hardcore Christians would let their children see this? This kinda reminds me of this story I read on the web. It was some Baptist mother that found her son masterbating to a life sized Jar Jar doll. Where can I get one of those? So now they are boycotting Lucas and saying Jar Jar is Satan. Kinda like they said one of the teletubbies is Gay (this may be true, but that's beside the point). Sheesh, what will those "people" think of next, I think the Bible says, "Blame others' for your misteachings or wrong doings." (Sarcasm) Better teach your children not to masterbate now, they may go to hell, grow hair on their palms or basically get callis on their palms. Either one of those, the reality is everyone masterbates to a degree. So go see this movie, it's not all about masterbating, it's about getting laid!

The Blair Witch Project - Artisan
99-07-16

Ooo, too scary. Yeah right! Please, Drop Dead Gorgeous was scarier than this stupid pseudo amateur flick. IF YOU PEOPLE READ THROUGH THE CREDITS, IT WAS FILMED IN FLORIDA!!! Idiots.

South Park - Paramount
99-06-30

This movie rocked the town. Hey, what movie are you going to see that has everything the MPAA hates? This movie is relentless, I even took my 15 year old brother to see it. Fortunately, he is educated so I trust his decisions, but if you have a "slow" child or your child is of the country-side, I would advise to wait till your child is at least thirty-something.

Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me - New Line
99-06-11

This brilliant sequel is added to the hall-of-fame I tell you. Although, too much like the first one (that most everyone missed in the theatre) some of the time sequences were a little off. Austin's goal this time is to go back in time and save his mojo. What that is I can only speculate. The obvious answer is there, yes, but I have multiple answers to whata mojo could be. Now show me the deleted scenes.

The Phantom Menace - FOX
99-05-19

Feel your seats shake as the lightsaber, space and ground battles occur. Phenomenal. The movie left me breathless. This is the Blockbuster of the century. The Jedis (Neeson and McGregor) are ambassadors to the Senate. Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah. Go see the movie already! Lucas has out-done himself, again. Too bad the box office didn't agree.

Never Been Kissed - FOX
99-05-19

Was there ever a Josie Grossy in your class? I don't recall one, but if there was one I dont' think kids from my time would be so mean. Well, today I would have to say kids are just plain mean. Where's the home training? Sweet as usual, Drew has pizazz and spunk. From Grossy to career girl to the most love she has ever felt. Kudos to you girl, only you can make it happen.
B-.

Drop Dead Gorgeous - New Line
99-04-30

Woohoo! Another trailer-trash type movie. Hollywood just can't get enough of making fun of those nasty people. If I found this to be hilarious then there is something seriously wrong with those people. Talk about killing someone to win a contest. Does this remind you of another movie?. Denise Richards is such an excellent bitch!
B.

Existenz - Miramax
99-04-23

In this new age of technology and the games we play have become more amazing. Existenz brings fantasy to reality. Although, I don't know about the pink penis shaped cell phone. There are some people that try and stop technology from advancing. These groups could be religious, political and the ignorant. But to be ignorant would be death wouldn't it? Therefore, we are primal. At some points there are some bizarre scenes, but everything ties in just nicely..
B.

The Matrix - Warner Brothers
99-04-02

The best part of the movie was if Keanu (Neo) was not in it. But besides that, Lawrence (Morpheus) was fantastic in his role. The movie was visually pleasing to the eye. "Bullet time" or Flow-Mo would be the name. Learning that you were not real would make me want to find the "golden child" to save the world. Programs come after you and stronger than a normal human in a virtual world that was created by machine can kill. Oh Keanu, our saviour! Right.

Simply Irresistible - FOX/Regency
99-02-05

Let's just say this girl flick had my heart touched too. I knew it was a girl flick, and I loved it. It had class with food. What more could you want? Miss Gellar was quite irresistible, but Mr. Flanery's amazing suits complimented her "not so classy dresses." Sarah gives the usual flare of strength and fragility. There is magic in the air when a little puppet crab is introduced in the beginning. The crab then picks just the right man for Sarah. Here, food is the way to a mans heart. It's a little ironic they would use a crab, since Cancerians are the same way. - One Sheet

Varsity Blues - Paramount/MTV
99-01-05

High school football seen through civilized eyes as "Prairie Cousins."
Beer guzzling, sexist, redneck, tobacco chewin', air-headed, no-brainer, trailer trash teens. But there's nothing wrong with that. If you've seen Jerry Springer, you know what I mean. During the movie I could not help but fidget every few minutes. A bit long and drawn out, there were a few good things about it, but you wouldn't use all your fingers on one hand. The story line was either based on football or about "getting out." Which is it? Both? Well, for both, it hurt to think about it. If you really need to see it, wait for the video. So that way you can turn it off or fast forward it.

A Bug's Life - Disney/Pixar
98-11-25

A Bug's Life, Pixar's second CGI movie. With as much spunk as Toy Story hit the Theatres with a bang. Out selling ANTZ [Dreamworks] at the box office.
With most movies going on today, this one amazingly has a plot. Flik, a bungling ant, can't seem to do anything right. With a managerie of insects this film certainly sets the sites for CGI cartoon comedy.
