The Angry Minute 5-18-01
The supreme court Monday ruled that federal law does not allow a "medical necessity" exception to the prohibition of marijuana. The ruling did not overturn the state initiative or address the question of state law, so the legal onus remains with each respective state as to whether or not to take legal action.
But within the states that already allow its medicinal usage, some pundits say it is unlikely prosecution would even come to play-yeh, kinda like Utah & Polygamy.
What is it with marijuana? How can a society that treats a drug like tobacco or alcohol with embrace, be so contempt and intimidated by a drug that has proven beneficial in sickness and disease?
There is no medical research indicating marijuana's medical benefit. But isn't that a little weird?? When VA patients alleged Zyban helped relieve their craving for cigarettes, research was done.
When doctors noticed the blood thinning capabilities in aspirin, research was done.
But this is marijuana-and everyone knows marijuana leads to lifelong addictions to heroin, which of course leads to a life of crime, and subsequently a cameo on Ally McBeal, and a golden globe award.
I mean, is this what they think?
Is this why there has never been a thorough, unbiased, and conclusive study on marijuana?
But don't listen to the doctors who as a majority support the research-naww, what do they know about laws?
They have this pipe dream ideology that people who are sick should not suffer unnecessarily when other options exist. What a bunch of dreamers!
bUT i GUESS THEY'RE right, the last thing we want is some sickly hooked on reefer, walking around like a zombie, finishing off his final days of their life munching like an adolescent on Easter.
What do they know…
