This is a Navajo Indian Sandpainting of the Soft Talker. Made during the ceremony called the "Night Way " chant.

His head dress consist of eight eagle tail feathers, and six owl plumes.

The chin line denote corn pollen path.

The arm streamers and sash are of the rainbows.

The feet are of the black clouds.

He carries a fawn skin bag, on a rainbow twine.

This painting is all hand done, out of pulverized natural colored sand stones, silicon, and mineral rocks.

Soft Talker (Talking God) Information
The Bluebird, a symbol of peace and happiness, is generally beloved by the Navajo, being herald of the dawn and a manifestation of Talking God (Soft Talker), who told Corn Girl, of the Night chant he would appear among the Navajo as bluebird.

Talking God
1. Maternal grandfather of the Gods.
2. Talking God refers to mythological times when he talked; today he communicates by the sound "whu whu"…(4 times).
3. He is a leader of the Night way.
4. He was transformed from white corn.
5. Corn Girl is his daughter.
6. Has control of corn, rare game, eastern sky, and dawn.
7. Has a sense of compassion.
8. Is modest, playful, often teased, is mild and firm.
9. Attire is a robe and mask of white buckskin.
10. A band of yellow evening light lies over the chin.
11. Fawn skin bag - very unusual.
