We Need Your Help!

SECONDS COUNT!, a grassroots citizens group in Boulder, Colorado, needs your help.  We have successfully petitioned to put a measure on the November 2000 ballot prohibiting two kinds of traffic devices on Boulder's public streets: vertical obstacles like speed bumps and raised intersections, and traffic circles too small to be negotiated quickly by emergency vehicles. Now we need support for our election campaign.

This ballot measure is the first we know of anywhere in the world to ban construction of these obstacles and require those already built to be removed. It offers uniform protection to residents throughout the city, eliminating political pressures that corrupt decisions surrounding traffic mitigation. And it targets only devices that delay emergency response.  Other methods of speed enforcement will be unaffected.

Please help us with a contribution to our educational efforts. Our success will empower opponents of traffic mitigation everywhere. A contribution of $25 or $50 will go a long way.  If you can spare $100, even better. Boulder's campaign finance disclosure laws require that we report contributions. But, contributions can be made anonymously.
