THE NEW POWER ARTS MANIFESTO

Artists of the 21st century we commit ourselves to work together to meet the shared challenge of recreating our society so that the freedom and dignity of every human being is central to political life.  We acknowledge our responsibility for our own actions, both individual and collective, and their impact on all the people of the world and the natural environment.

Artists must join together to manipulate the worlds of business and politics into a world of business and political ethics. In effect to create a new art form, that of values based business and values based government.

The artist must recreate himself as an aggressive force for social good in the new age of hyper-accelerated change. This new dynamic and robust persona for the artist is the artist-social entrepreneur.

The artist-social entrepreneur recognizes the need for social change and helps implement that change by developing his personal and organizational power to change the political process, fight injustice, poverty and homelessness, and promote and strengthen the arts community.

The artist-social entrepreneur takes the forces of change in his own hands using the technologies of the scientist and the business entrepreneur, and the power of the communications media, to promote a love of equity, and joy in compassion, openness, and sharing.

The artist-social entrepreneur develops and shares a new freedom with humanity based on the shedding of guilt based behaviors, dishonesty, greed, and the multiple addictions of a society that promote love of things over love of people.

The artist-social entrepreneur acknowledges that we are part of a living spiritual universe, not a dead universe abandoned by God, and that we are the responsible stewards of that universe.

The artist-social entrepreneur in his role of synthesizer takes the multiple world-views of our time and reconciles them into an approach based on love, creativity, tolerance, and efficiency.
