1858 Revision List
|
| The 1858 Revision Population List was the only
Revision List for the Colony of Oberdorf. In the
1858 Revision List, there was an Oberdorf population of 256 males and 239 females. There are other references to the population of Oberdorf Village in published works, specifically the population in 1890 and 1912 (By 1890, there was a population of 786 males and 754 females, and by 1912, Oberdorf's population was approximately 2,400
people. (See History of Oberdorf) The Revision List is a record of households that includes the surname, given names, relationships, ages, and the colony of origin, including the household (reviziya) number on the 1850-52 Revision List of the colony of origin. The colonies of origin (Oberdorf's mother colonies) are Dobrinka, Galka, Grimm, Holstein, Kutter, Norka, Schwab, Shcherbakovka, and Stephan. Contact the respective village coordinators for earlier Revision Lists for the mother colonies. Surname charts may also be available in the mother colonies. The 1858 Revision Lists for nearby Rosenberg Parish colonies have recently become available. Please check with the village coordinators for the villages of Erlenbach and Unterdorf, since there was movement between those colonies and Oberdorf due to marriages.
