aee

Provides both a terminal (curses based) interface and native X-Windows
interface (in which case the executable is called xae). Features include
pop-up menus, journalling (to recover from system crash or loss of connection),
cut-and-paste, multiple buffers (associated with files or not), and much
more.
ee

cutview
A history mechanism for cut-n-paste operations. Also converts transparently
between selections and cutbuffer0. In the screen shot below
cutview has 5 buffers, and the buffer containing the string 'neat stuff'
is locked, so that the information in that buffer is persistent and is
not replaced by subsequent selections. Buffers that are not locked
are replaced in a least recently used manner each time the user selects
(or cuts or copies) text. To make the contents of a cutview the current
selection so it can be pasted, the user simply needs to click on the arrow
next to the buffer. Users can also print or edit the contents of
a buffer via a menu. cutview can be compiled with Motif or Lesstif.
cutview now works in GNOME!
