Chrysler
seems to have developed some of the interesting but eclectic heraldic displays
of any automobile manufacturer. The
hood ornament shown to the left contains the Chrysler seal logo that is the
most consistent logo they have used.
This logo was recently resurrected recently and is now used quite
prominently on their products.
The
Chrysler Cordoba was an attempt at building a relatively patrician vehicle, and
heraldry was one of the tools the designer used to enhance its image. This hood ornament appears to contain a
simplified version of the arms of the city of Cordoba.

The
Imperial was sometimes a separate make from the Chrysler, and other times just
the top Chrysler model. Of interest
here is that the logos used for the Imperial were often moved to Chrysler
models as the need arose. Compare the
image used in this 1964 Imperial hood ornament on the left to the image used on
a Chrysler LeBaron hubcap about fifteen years later.

Finally,
here are some other heraldic images used on various Chryslers.
