About Us

The Iowa Coalition for Housing and the Homeless is a statewide non-profit organization formed in 1988 and consisting of low-income housing and homeless service providers, advocates, local governments, lending institutions, and low-income and homeless individuals. Our mission is: “Through policy development, technical assistance, and education, the ICHH works to create structural changes that alleviate poverty and empower low-income individuals and their allies in advocating for change.

The ICHH accomplishes its mission through its four core program areas:

  • Public Education
  • Technical Assistance
  • Tenant Outreach and Education
  • Public Policy Advocacy
