GF CHECKLIST CREATED

I have created a checklist for big weekend.  It has all the information you care to know about GF '04, including the plan for Thursday.

CHECK IT OUT HERE

9.16.04

Old Dude is OUT!

Religious conflict doesn't just effect the middle east.  It's right here at home - Tim's daughters confirmation snuck up and took over Tim's GF weekend plans.  He will be missed this year, but at least that means their will only 1 person to complain about the steaks (Jake).  See ya at GF '05 Mr. Wynn.

SO who takes over the OLD DUDE status? . . . . Paul W? . . ., Kohn? . . . . Jerry?

9.8.04

www.guyfest.com is ours!

I have successfully stole the domain name www.guyfest.com from a group of guys out in Oregon that has it for the last 4 years.  I secured it for the next 3 years! Now you have NO excuse if you forget the website address

9.8.04

Guyfest 2004 attendance FULL!

We have reached our comfortable capacity of 23 guys for 2004(assuming Paul Brown can make it)

So if you those who wanted in, you'll have to wait until 2005 - sign up early next year!

SCOOBIE IS OUT!!  I tracked that bitch down and he has family scheduling conflicts and sadly is out this year - but promises a return in '05. The GOOD news is not going to take all our money at the tables this year.  SO who will take over his role as big money winner in '04? . ? .  ? - COULD BE YOU!

Tom and Rodney have bowed out  - BOO!!!! - I guess I'll have to win the VB without Tom this year

Another rookie has joined the ranks - Ryan a friend of Aaron.  This brings the rookie total to 4.  Hope you rookies like Bacon!!

Attention Thursday Crew

We need to start planning the Thursday departure plan.

At this point in the game we have 11 departing on Thursday.

When do we want to head out? 1:00? 3:00?  6:00?

Where do we want to meet?

I know McClain and Armstrong are planning on riding the Harleys north - so we need to pick up their shit.

Thursday people - EMAIL ME your thoughts . . .your wishes . . your dreams . . .

2 Months Away !!

Holly Crap its almost August!  That means GF is only weeks away (9 to be exact). This is the perfect time to re-remind your loved ones of your weekend away with the guys,  I can already smell the bacon . . . .

Golf Plans Underway

Dave Roufs has begun to make the Golf plans for Friday.  I am sure we'll do a similar best-ball scramble like we did last year.  I'll keep you updated as the details emerge on the Golf outing.  If you are interested check out the attendee info matrix for sign up information.

Rookies Guide

For the rookies that are contemplating GF for the first time,  the general outline of the weekend:

ACTIVITIES

If you are a Golfer, or you just need more time away come up on Thursday Night.

Friday am (not too early) Golf Scramble Tournament, or stay back at the cabin and whisper sweet nothings into either Kimball's or Jain's ears - they like it.

Friday Night Taco Feast

The rest of the group arrives

Head down to the resort bar for a few shots and little karaoke - Just don't pick any rap songs . . . none of us are black . . . and rhyming is tougher than you think.

Sat Noon BLT Extravaganza

Volley Ball Tournament on the beach  - NOTE: If I am on your team, you need to know "I am top 4" and I am sticking to it.

VB MVP Award ceremony

Head to the Hot Tub / Pool

Eat Red Meat and Potatoes

Jump in the Taxi Van and head to Zorba's (Bar/Club)

Sunday wake up - go home and sleep

ACCOMMODATIONS

It's a huge Cabin that sleeps 25.

You'll get your own bed/cot

Their is a large common area with Pool Table / Ping Pong / Fire Place / TV / XBOX / Tables for Gambling

Big Kitchen

COST

$150 Give or take $10 - $15.  This includes all food, lodging, Taxi Service.  You are on your own for beverages

If you're on a tight budget,  GF can be easily enjoyed for about $250 for the whole weekend

I could go on and on and on, but obviously if you made your way to this website - you know someone that has gone to GF. And GF, for the most part, does not change from year to year - don't try and fix something that ain't broken.

Don't forget to check out the GF Mission Statement for a little incentive

Remember rookies are more than welcome to also invite one or two or your close friends, so forward this page to them.

GF2K4 Booked

I finalized the dates for Guyfest 2004 today ( I actually booked it on the Monday after GF2K3 - but paid the down payment today).  I ruled out the first 2 weekends due to Labor Day concerns.  The 3rd weekend was booked so the 4th weekend it is!

Please check your family calendars and mark off the dates!

Tim Wynn's (Old Dude's) Unofficial 1st annual "Guyfest" awards

It must me noted that this list is "Unofficial" and I take no responsibility for the following rips.

That being noted - I think it's damn funny - and I thought I'd pass it along to the group

Best bar attire:

Dave Roufs with his Homer Simpson shirt.
Worst bar attire:  Flounder in a T-shirt.
Runner up: Jeremy with the "drunk chicks" shirt.
Best one liner:  "I'm the top 4 volleyball player" Jeremy, who had to be drunk when he said it. .
Worst one liner:  "There's a seat open right here for you" Double A, Aaron Armstrong to every chick that walked by him in the bar. p.s. it damn near worked
Runner up: "Wilson" - Me, AKA Old Dude, during volleyball.
Best volleyball attire:  Mike with his "pregnant" shirt.
Worst volleyball attire: Ben in a wife beater shirt.
Runner up: We have a tie between the "Asthma is sexy" and the "Pssst - I'm right here" shirts.
Best moment at the Crajun's bar:  Jeremy's karaoke, my side still hurts.
Worst moment at the Crajun's bar: Bill Parcells flexing his muscle to a chick on the dance floor
Runner up: he guys that almost got busted trying to steal a cot after the bar closed
Best meal: The Wendy's double cheese burger on my 5 1/2 hour drive on the way.
Worst meal: Attempting to cook thick steaks on crappy grills, strike two. It didn't work the year before either.
Runner up: This is a worst runner up. Trying to cook 20 pounds of bacon for BLT's. Let's see, it's too much work, it stinks up the joint, and make a mess.
** Note: We will be bringing up a few gas grills next year for better grilling.  Also, tough shit for you bacon cookers - everyone likes BLT's :) (especially me!)
