The www.junkyardjeff.com site started in mid April, 2001. We tried to come up with a way to move our surplus and retired equipment from customer sites. As things have picked up we have started picking up loads of surplus equipment that is destined for the landfill. We check and sort the stuff and part it out to sell. We update the site every couple of days between our local service calls.
We are trying to keep prices reasonable, and check other hardware vendors on the web. Sales are picking up every day, which will allow us to spend more time cataloging stuff for the web-site.
All equipment we can't resell or donate is recycled, not put in the landfill. If you are disposing of equipment, please try and find someone else that can use it. There are many non-profit groups that can't afford new equipment. Also remember - monitors have lead in them, if you need to dispose of any that can't be fixed or used, contact your local solid waste division for proper disposal methods and locations.
We cooperate fully with law enforement regarding stolen equipment, so please, don't even bother trying to sell us equipment that is stolen. If you are a Law Enforcement Officer, feel free to have your stolen property division send us "hot sheets" of equipment or "no-buy" sheets via e-mail. We keep records and will be happy to help you in catching the bad guys.
