Ms.
Jovanna!

Originally from Chicago, I now reside in Champaign, IL. I am a graduate from Chicago Vocational High School.
After graduation, I began my college career at Chicago State University and
transferred to Pima Community College in Tucson in August 1998. I received my Bachelor's Degree in
Political Science from the University of Arizona in 2003 and I'm currently
pursing my Masters in Business Administration from the University of
Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.

My favorite color is PINK!
Almost half of my wardrobe and accessories are pink. Everyone knows
that I love pink but most people don't know why. Pink is the color for
breast cancer victims and survivors. Someone who meant the world to me
died of breast cancer and I wear pink in her memory. THINK PINK!!!
My birthday is September 26th. I come from
a very large family of 4 brothers and 3 sisters. I also have a large
extended family. I have four nephews: Kentrell, Kenneth, Joshua and Kendall. I also have four Godchildren: Cassandra, Candice,
Caleb, and Lilia Mary (click on the photo gallery link for pictures of all
of us).

In the past couple of years
I've learned a lot about myself. For most of us it takes a big life altering
experience to happen to us before we realize that we need to reevaluate our
lives. I've learned a lot about friendship, love and life. I'm picking and
choosing my friends wisely from now on. Real friends stay with you no matter
what. They are always there to support you in your darkest, scariest moment.
They are there when you need them and are there when you wish they would go
the hell away! I'm the type of person who truly values friendship and
family. My friends are my family.

I am an independent person who has learned to rely on myself. Although my
friends are so important in my life, I realize that I am on my own in this
world and have to live my life on my own terms. If I am not happy with my
situation, I will change it. There's no reason to be miserable and sit
around and complain. Leaving Chicago to move to Tucson was a huge step;
however, I made that step to better my life. That is the full-throttle
method by which I live.
I love to laugh and visualize the landscape. What's a beautiful sunset
without someone to notice it? Tucson has great lightening shows--that is
something I can take in and absorb. I notice a baby's laugh, dew on a
blooming flower in the morning, and a bird singing when someone else may
not.
I am a very spiritual person. I believe in Divine Guidance and I trust in
Him above all others. I believe that I still have a lot to learn about the
world, and I leave my mind open for this knowledge.
