AT THIS NOWHERE
When everything is almost
And never as they seem
Come, meet me at this nowhere
With but your hopes and dreams.
Do not eye the unpaved road
As one would, a barren void,
And never mind the doubt
If you’ll forget the joy
I may not know of promises
Of love, and life, and truth
But when I stride, on callow feet,
I’ll pray it’s led by you.
I will not see to mind
Where shadowed grays are cast
Nor will I leave to find
The place we are at last
So lull the voice of fear
As it may intervene
Our meeting at this nowhere
With but our hopes and dreams.
