The following sections outline the large robot project I've been working on, off & on, for the past few years. From time to time in between other projects I'll go back and add a little bit here and there. Most recently I've fleshed in section #5 with the new touch screen display holder.
A first look at the entire system assembled, this frame shows the bot assembled as it was shown at the Seattle Robotics Society's Robothon event.
This overview frame shows 90% of the components dissasembled and placed on a table. From this the reader can get an idea for the scope of this project.

The robot frame / body assembly photos are located here. There are several good view.
All of the mechanisms for mounting & turning the weight & bulk of the tower. Also visible here are the custom cut sprockets and specialty large diameter berrings.
| |
The tower itself. Here the arm is visible as well as the display mount. These views show several assembled views.
The Display mounts and the display project. This is the newest development in this ongoing project.

The arm and several joint closeups of different specialized gearing arrangments, encoder mounts, etc.
Close-ups of the suspension mechanisms are outlined in this section with many supporting details and close ups of several individual components.
| |
The soon to be reworked truck turning mechanism.
Several closeups of the wheel truck and it's components.

The paper beginnings of this design are viewable here, check it out... Yeah, even in this high tech day of computers, CAD etc, I still pull out the engineering pad once in a while.
Several snap shots of the CAD model. These snapshots will offer those without access to a CAD system an overview of what it's like to build a complex 3-D model like this.

A major project to build (mass produce) the tread design for the robot.
Controllers & sensors for use with this robot.
