Milling Machine

The second en carnation of the milling machine project, in this section, I've added a stepper motor and linear encoder feedback system to an imported drill mill.

CNC-Mill Software

To complement the control system, I've developed a significant amount of GUI interface code to interpret and contour standard NC or G-Code. This section shares some screen snap shots of that work.

Home Made Mill:

Back in my college days, before purchasing the drill mill in the first section, I built the basic 3-axis machine from scratch in my college dorm room.

Home Grown

Mill Accessories

This section outlines a few of the many home made accessories for use with various configurations of milling machines and lathes.

New Project

One of the new projects I've just started working on is outlined in this section. As the reader can see Quite a bit of planning, CAD design, and yes even the first few hundreds of hours of fab are already completed.

Lathe Work

I purchased a good sized solid American made Lathe, Clausing. This provides just a small overview of this tool and a tiny bit of the work I've done with it.

Custom CNC Geometry

Smoothing Software

Often when working on CNC projects one ends up needing to digitizing existing features, in my case, maps. This sections outlines the software I wrote to generate G-Code to contour 3-D model sections from point clouds generated by digitizing contour maps.

Newest Mill:

Not much to say here, new toys ;-)

The Workshop:

Of course all this work has to go on somewhere. I've got the tiniest of work shops to cram all of this equipment into plus some of the other projects (like the injection mold machine).

The Studio:

After all these years, my new workshop is going to be this... Big..

Expirements in

Metal Forming:

I've taken the time to detail the construction steps of a fun robot part here.

Tools:

A graphical reivew of Measuring, Set-Up, Cutting, Hand and other tools.

More To Come:

This section is ever evolving. I'll post updates from time to time as new equipment and toys are moved into and out of the shop.
