Lutheran Braille Evangelism Association
"And that having the eyes of your heart full of light,
you may have knowledge of what is the hope of his purpose, what is the wealth
of the glory of his heritage in the saints." (Ephesians 1:18 BBE)
LBEA MISSION
The Lutheran Braille Evangelism Association (LBEA) is a non-profit
ministry, founded in 1952 by the blind Lutheran pastor John Gustav
Erickson. Its mission is to provide Scripture and other Christian
materials to blind and sight impaired persons all over the world.
The ministry is evangelical in its thrust and was begun and continues
to be centered around its motto of "Helping the Sightless See the
Savior." Today, under the leadership of Rev. Dennis and Barbara
Hawkinson, LBEA searches for every way it can to fulfill its mission to
communicate the message of Christ in braille, large print,
audio tape and CD, and also in digital
format through the popular hand-held talking BibleCourier,
which now comes with rechargeable batteries, a builtin speaker
and a powerful Word Search Function.
Your BibleCourier will contain one complete Bible and a whole Bible
commentary or two different complete Bible versions in the one
BibleCourier unit along with a KJV concordance, a Glossary of terms
and other study aids, all at the subsidized cost of only $75.
LBEA PUBLICATIONS
LBEA publishes a braille magazine called "Tract Messenger" which is sent free of
charge to hundreds of blind persons through out the United States and in more than twenty
overseas lands. It also publishes The "Christian Magnifier" in either large print or on
audio Compact Disc, which it sends eleven times each year to thousands of sight impaired
persons all across the globe. For information on how to subscribe
check out the
current issue.
LBEA SUPPORT
We ask your support for this important ministry to the blind and sight impaired first of
all with prayer. Prayer power is one of the strongest forces God has given us. Please
pray regularly for LBEA. Second, we ask that you support this ministry with your financial
gifts. LBEA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charity. We are neither affiliated with nor
funded by any church denomination. We depend entirely upon the gifts of individuals,
congregations, and community groups to fund this work.
If you or your group would
like more information about the LBEA ministry please request our 13 minute video for
viewing in your community.
Gifts from individuals in any amount, including bequests
and gifts of stocks, are also needed so that we can continue
"Helping the Sightless See the Savior" in the months and years ahead.
