Week 3/4

Chem/Phys
Periods 1, 3, 4, 7

Tuesday September
4th
We took notes on the classification of matter.  You will find the notes on Blackboard.  HW:  There is a worksheet on Blackboard under assignments and matter  1.3 concept review Quiz on Thursday/Friday...See Week 4 on Blackboard under Class information
Wednesday September 5th We went over the HW and you turned in the 1.3 worksheet to the webfolder.  We did demos which addressed physical and chemical change.
HW:
Read pages 4-9 on chemical and physical change  - Study for quiz
Thursday/
Friday
9/6

We had quiz.  We also worked on the classification lab.  Hopefully some of the groups got done with this lab and put it into the webfolder.  The rest of you might need to put some out of class time to finish it up.  We will get new groups on Monday!

HW:  Read 36-45 in the book.  Do the practice worksheet found on this link:
http://www.fordhamprep.org/gcurran/sho/sho/worksheets/worksht25j.htm   It is practice on scientific notation. The answers are at the bottom. It is just practice so you don't have to turn it in   Bring your calculators!

Monday 9/10 We discussed the quiz we took on Thursday/Friday.  We actually took a version of it again!  We also finished and turned in the classification lab.
HW:  Read 2.3 pp. 54-56
Quiz is next Monday 9/17...More about it in class.

Tuesday 9/11 We collected data on masses and volumes of alcohol and water.
HW:  construct a line graph - just show the data points and don't connect them.  If you are familiar with best fit lines, draw one as close to as many data points as possible.  It is likely that many of your points will be on your line.  Your graph should have a title, labeled axis, and units.

Week 3/4

Chem/Phys
Period 6

Tuesday 9/4 We discussed the homework a bit and you turned it into webfiles.  We discussed our next lab and started -collecting data.  HW:  Read 2.1 - 2.4 .  This is about displacement.
Wednesday 9/5 We worked on collecting displacement and time data with our high tech toy cars.  Graphs  turned in as a group.  No new HW.
Thursday 9/6 We worked on Finishing up the car graphs.  These were turned into the webfolder.  We worked on the circumference and diameter group worksheet.  Hopefully, this is almost done!   There were toy car questions to be answered by the group.
HW:  Worksheet on graphing in the Assignment part of blackboard.
Monday 9/10 We went over the HW and you turned it in.  We also collected data for a changing velocity lab.
HW:  Graph the data.  Find the best fit for it and see what happens to the slope as it continues.
Tuesday 9/11 We took a look at the first graph and converted it to a average velocity vs time graph.
HW:  Finish the two graphs and analyze the errors.  As with other graphs, copy them into word.  Make sure your axis are labeled and you have a title.
HW2:  Worksheet on d vs t graphs.  On blackboard.
Quiz on Thursday:  Interpretation of d vs t graphs, and using logger pro.
Wednesday   This homework page is being moved to Blackboard because I cannot update it from school.
