G'Day Mates!

Let me tell you about
The Adventures of the Lamb Family Down Under

That's right!  Just like Captain Cook, we went off to explore Australia.

So what did we see and do?  I'm glad you asked.
I've got lots of photos to answer those very questions.

You'll be spellbound.

First, Australia is a fascinating place, with some of the strangest animals you could ever imagine living in the trees.

Australia is filled with great people - like these three pretty Sheilas here!

But I think you already know about our Australian cousins, Sophia & Zoe.

Aunt Amy, Uncle Troy, Sophia & Zoe live in Brisbane,
so that's where we started.
But getting to Brisbane meant flying, and flying means airports.  Airports aren't very exciting places.
Here's a picture that Mom took when we weren't looking.  By the way, that's the Brisbane River and City of Brisbane in the background.
Not far from Brisbane is this great theme park called Dreamworld.
Here I am leading Dad up the Tower of Terror.  Just look at him - he had no idea what was going on.  First, you sit in a chair that lifts you up nearly 39 stories.  Then you drop to the ground in 5 seconds.  It was a blast!  Dad survived.
One of the best parts about Dreamworld was the area called Tiger Island.  These tigers have been raised by humans, so they have no problem working with their handlers.  They even put tigers on leashes, and walk them through the park.

The other great place we saw was Sea World.  Here I was able to introduce Sophia to the Wonderful World of Rays.  Just look at the excitement on her face.

Of course, Australia is famous for its amazing animals,
like the koala.

Mom fell in love with the Koalas.
I must admit, they are kind of cute.

But what's Australia without the Roos?
Especially the joeys.  But I knew I had to be careful, and say just the right thing.
Sometimes we had a little trouble communicating with the roos.  We needed an Aussie to translate for us.
We tried to have Aunt Amy translate for us, but she still speaks Australian with a funny American accent.
We clearly needed Uncle Troy to help us.

He's like the Kangaroo Whisperer, or something.

Australia is an island, so naturally there are lots of great beaches.
Collin & Garrett had never seen the Pacific Ocean.

But I was there to show them the way!

And Uncle Troy was there to show me the way first...
Collin and Garrett got delusions of grandeur from the day!
Like good Aussies, we also played cricket on the beach.
And what about Mom and Aunt Amy?  They just relaxed.

We took two special trips from Brisbane:
the first was north to Tropical Australia & the Great Barrier Reef!
Our first trip was to the Low Isles on the Great Barrier Reef to snorkel and find Nemo.

You don't want to know what came out of the Sea Cucumber while Collin was holding it!
Our second trip was to see the Rain Forest.
We began by taking a great train ride to a town called Kuranda.
We then boarded the Sky Tram...

...for a ride over the rain forest.
A ride that had views like this!
Another trip took us to the Mossman Gorge, where our guide told us we could swim.  We were ready.
Who cares that the water was 68ºF/20ºC?  We stayed in for a full two minutes!

We also took a cruise on the Daintree River.

The second trip was to Sydney.
You probably recognize these places.

Oh no!  Shark!
Just kidding.  It's actually the Sydney Aquarium.  What an amazing place.
We also went to the top of the Sydney Tower - the highest tower in the Southern Hemisphere.
Not far from Sydney are the Blue Mountains, a beautiful area to drive in.
Unfortunately, we were there on a foggy, rainy day.

Here's a spot where two gorges meet.  Notice that the one on the right is completely filled with fog.

The fog made it a little difficult to see this formation, known as the Three Sisters.

Well folks, I'm afraid that's all.

With a big sloppy kiss from Vinnie,
Goodbye Until Next Time!
